Sometimes, we think that John Lurie is the Universe, while the rest of us are just living inside his soul; listening, looking, and trying to better appreciate and measure his genius sounds and amazing art.

No, John, hearing you playing saxophone for 45' or more is not boring. I could hear you for ever. You're so spiritual !

it's so heartwarming to see the kind and wonderful soul of a human you appreciated for his music-art-etc, it makes you love him even more, feels like you're spiritually friends, if that's a thing anyway. Thank you John Lurie, you are a great influence!

Wonderful Stuff. Thanks so very much for sharing this. The Lounge Lizards rule and thirty years on, “The Voice of Chunk” is still one of the finest albums released in any genre or style. It’s a True Masterpiece and only gets better with each subsequent spin (and stream). His film and television scoring work, for which he’s been handsomely rewarded, is also fantastic. John Lurie Forever!

...love his acting performances, too... and his solo work. He’s also an incredibly fun storyteller and full of sharp, witty, and well-informed opinions. Did we mention his painting? No? F***ing Incredible. Television writer and director... He does it all so very well and with so much heart, soul, and infectious imagination. #EverythingIsMusic ....so... #AlwaysBeListening

This was wonderful. Thank you so much. Never "got him" back in his heydays but so glad I can appreciate him now and especially thanks to people like you who take the time to share these amazing intimate moments. Not sure if he was considered a genius or major force when this was his time but he may have deserved more recognition than he got.

I love to like John Laurie, but I don't. I also don't love to not like him. He'd be the kind of friend I care about, but who cares zero about me. He has an air of selfishness, self-centredness that is toxic for my psyche, yet I am gently fascinated by him. What is it about him? Anyone else has a similar vibe? I love all the characters he played with in Jim Jarmush's movies, and always liked them out of compassion for them to have to do with him. Anyways...
