John MacArthur: ADULTEROUS PRAYER

5 MINUTE CHRISTIANITY

Күн бұрын

Dr. John MacArthur is-far and away-America’s greatest Bible teacher. In 2015, I had a burning desire to understand what the Bible really meant, however, everywhere I searched, all
I found was grossly undereducated men who called themselves “preachers” or “pastors” who were chiefly interested in:
1. Making money
2. Gaining popularity
3. Spreading a false gospel
It was quite obvious to me they had very little Biblical knowledge.
MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this KZbin channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.
I implore you to go directly to his website to learn more about the Word of God: www.gty.org
Here you will find a wealth of information on virtually any subject in God’s Word. You can search by scripture, Books of the Bible, or keywords.
MacArthur is not focused on making money, unlike many false Christian preachers today. You can download his sermons for FREE! Just click on this link to go directly to his sermons.
www.gty.org/li...
I pray that God blesses you with a deeper understanding of the Word of God!

A man may have spiritual gifts: gifts of prophecy, tongues, and many other gifts most remarkable. A man may have spiritual gift of preaching, teaching or be able to speak with power, and yet his private life may be filled with pride and no love for his congregation or the outside world and eventually the world says, "we don't believe in that man. Where is his humility? ". A man may be an evangelist and lead hundreds to Christ and yet you will hear it said, "How full of self". Can it be that a man who is a powerful man in his teaching s service of God can be carnal? It can be. I believe he is lacking in the graces of the holy life in humility, gentleness, tenderness and love. Why do I say this? Because he preaches the law more than grace and I never see him crack a smile and he seems that he is the only one that has the Holy Spirit and the rest of us born-again Believers don't and so we must depend on him and what he says. John McArthur doesn't even believe in healing when Jesus clearly healed the sick and raised the dead .... We are Ambassadors for Christ and so we should be doing the same. Do you ever see John McArthur heal the sick or raise the dead as it is commanded.? The man may be a preacher but is he really carnal? He may help another in their Christian life but helps him to such a mixed one that it is feeble and does not stand. The man whose inner life is under the rule of the Spirit, who is himself spiritual, will be get really spiritual children; he will "impart the life of God in power" !!! Being able to exercise "Spiritual Gifts" is no necessary proof that he is not carnal. Read 1 Corinthians 3:1-4

Thank you for this. Years ago I was involved in a large church organization where we met in the home of a someone. One person would lead the "fellowship" it was like a service with a small group of people. The organization was large though and headquarters were in Ohio. I remember them teaching on the lines of this topic. Whatever happened in our lives was a result of whether we were in fellowship with God. If our prayers weren't answered it was our fault. We were taught that we were letting Satan control our lives if things were going bad for us. There is more to it but I tell you I lived under so much guilt and self condemnation I felt like I was always walking on eggshells. I finally stopped being involved but it took years to heal my mind heart and spirit. I always had a feeling something wasn't right but then would think it was me. I never blamed God, I didn't turn from Him because of my experience.

100% Agree with this theology. Prayer is not "Door Dash" to God. All too many times I feel we put God in a box due to our sinful greedy nature and treat him like he is some Genie in a bottle we try to summons upon want. God's will, is God's will for a reason. It is FOR HIS Glory and Good Pleasure, not ours and I feel the moment we realize this and humble our hearts to his Kingship then we will better be in a position to serve him, rather than serve ourselves. We are broken, we have nothing, can offer nothing, and should be totally reliant on Jesus' grace and mercy to supply all our needs. Only then, will we receive in his name what we ask in accordance to His Will.

Well, since „tongue talking believers“ do not exist (assuming you mean people who have a perpetual biblical gift of speaking in tongues), I don‘t quite understand your point. If by „tongue talking believers“ you mean people who go on and on with unintelligible gibberish, fair enough. But I would argue such people have other problems to deal with, starting with bad hermeneutics.
@joshuakarr-BibleMan
@joshuakarr-BibleMan Жыл бұрын
@DarthEli You are confused, as are many of those you ridicule. The Holy Spirit does indeed give gifts of tongues. He can help people to speak or hear things they usually don't have the linguistic capacity for. He does this in order to help spread the Gospel. He can even put completely foreign language in a man's mouth, which can be translated later or by another. Paul gives clear instruction for the use of tongues in the assembly. It usually looks nothing like the people who celebrate it the most frequently or most loudly. There must be no more than one or two at a time, and somebidy has to translate, or else it must stop. The modern charismatics don't have translators because many if them are doing babytalk, and because their pastors don't put the hammer down like Paul said to do, and keep them in line. Yes, there is a gift of tongues. No, it's not chaotic.
@dartheli7400
@dartheli7400 Жыл бұрын
@@joshuakarr-BibleMan I actually agree with everything you say. That is the biblical gift of tongues you are speaking of. I personally have never seen or heard of anyone experiencing it, though, apart from one testimony from Apologia Church (which I highly regard). Have you?
@Jeremiah17910
@Jeremiah17910 Жыл бұрын
@Joshua Karr, the tounges Paul spoke about to Corinthians were true languages, not your gibberish blabbering. All Panticostals and Charismatics who believe in unbiblical gibberish blabbering are deceived including you. The reason you are all deceived is, you are ignorant of what Paul was teaching in Corinthians. I know I was a Charismatic for 7 years and was taught to talk gibberish just like you and the rest of gibberish talking Pentecostals and Charismatics. But God has delivered me from the false Charismatic church, and from talking gibberish like a fool. My advice to you is, stop being a fool, stop talking gibberish, start talking in the language you understand what you are saying. But I know you are not going to do that because you are so deceived it shows by you defending your gibberish talking, and pointing to Corinthians which you have no understanding what Paul was saying to them about the true gift of tongues as recorded in Acts 2. Repent of you foolish gibberish talking. Or alse be quiet don't spread falsehood and confuse new Christians.

@@dartheli7400 perhaps you need to ask the Lord for the gift! For me praying in tongues is the most comforting thing when I simply do not know what to pray. Then the Spirit knows and helps me. One must be extremely careful of criticising the work of the Spirit. When I was in a Baptist church many years ago, the pastor would hand out notes every Sunday decrying this or that about a revival where the gifts were employed and attributing them to the devil. Shortly after ,his son died in a freak accident, his wife, daughter and grandson were in a serious accident and the child was killed. They had break- ins etc. Then one day a wheelbarrow fell off the back of a truck onto their car and they narrowly escaped serious injury. Today I understand why all this happened, but at the time no- one did. I am very wary of attacking what God is doing. We are told to as wise as serpents. Interesting ( scientific)research was done by Pennsylvania University on tongues.

SPIRIT WRITING Begin in the early hours between 1AM and 3AM, you'll need a soft tip pen and a writing pad. complete silence. Sit down at a table and vacate your mind, go into a state of meditation. Hold the pen tip gently on the writing pad and close your eyes. After about five minutes your hand will begin to move and the pen will make loops and squiggles on the page. When the pen reaches the edge of the page open your eyes and move the pen down to the next line, close your eyes and begin again. After a while the pen will stop, the session is over. Carefully examine all the loops and squiggles and you'll be able to recognize words and sentences. this is your message from the spirits and the more you practice the more you'll become familiar with the spirits communicating with you. They are your friends and they will provide messages and advice. Enjoy your new experiences. Blessed be.

@@roybuckle7576 THE MIRROR OF YOUR SOUL Wake after Midnight and prepare yourself for a beautiful Spiritual encounter, ideally the time should be after two, turn off all your lights and light some candles and sweet incense, your Spirits love incense and it demonstrates that you want to please them. Take off all your clothes and sit at a dresser which has a large unmagnified mirror, stare into the mirror and empty your mind until you begin to slip into a wonderful sensuous trance. You'll begin to notice slight movements in the background of the mirror which will become more obvious as time passes. Your Spirits have been summoned and they will take form before your eyes, don't show any alarm or fear, they are your friends and they want to converse with you. Find out their names and invite them to come through the mirror, they will be naked too so there will be no embarrassment. Everybody who asks Lord Ahriman, the keeper of the dark, will be given at least two Spirit guides of love and protection, mine are called Dari and Bix. These Spirits will dwell within you to help you deal with life and nobody will ever hurt you in the future. You can speak with them every night, they will teach you the mysteries of the Cosmos and how to develop your special powers that everybody has, but very few access. Very soon you will be guided to others who have also interacted with the Spirits of Ahriman. Your new life starts now and every day and night will become an adventure as you are introduced to the Wiccan culture. Remember to keep your mirror covered and don't permit others to use it for any purpose, only uncover it during the dark hours to allow your guides to travel back and forth. Christ himself, when faced with his coming murder, prayed, Father if there be any other way, nevertheless not my will but yours be done. He was our example. He never solicitated funds, nor did he seek wealth. When faced with temptation from the devil himself, he put the Kingdom of God above any human desire. Then he was nailed to the cross and took all the sin for all humanity for all time and became the innocent lamb who was slain. He demanded nothing for himself but gave himself up completely, knowing that he was not worthy to suffer, but did so for our sake. We did not deserve God's mercy or forgiveness, but God gave it through his perfect son anyway. We are told to pray that God gives us our daily bread, nothing more. Not health, not wealth, not prosperity. We owe God our life. He owes us nothing.

Jesus did say "ask and you shall receive" which i think where those of the prosperity gospel get confused and take it to a different level. The one thing I want is a partner who would be my wife. If it's God's will then let it be done and if not then so be it. I trust in Him and know He knows whats good for me. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking God for something, just be prepared to be answered "No." or "you're not ready for that yet."

Matthew 6. All I ever follow. What it brings you is judgment, of you, here, on earth, and opportunity to repent/correct and know and know why. Why people avoid it and turn to faith based O Fortuna - Wheel of Fortune - America and its lies of sin. I'll add too - I was on Wall Street - had it all - yet knew it just wasn't right, what was going on wasn't right, threw myself down, asked for the Lord, and he stripped it all away and I am so thankful he showed me that mercy. Who is running the Wheel of Fortune - Dark Kingdoms - and that's what you're buying a ticket into (Marine/Fire Islands - pick your poison). It's all quite real.

What are these Ashbury people praying for....most of them there, probably would say "too get closer to God" or " more!" I ask "why do you feel you need to get closer to God?" The key word here is "feelings" Most of these people who go to these popular revivals rely on their feelings instead of faith in God's word. Sadly, it all boils down too, most of them are not mature and literate in the Holy Bible. Or worse not even repentant, therefore not born again....and only just familiar with Christianity.

God is not our personal ATM. You wouldn't ask your best friend to provide all your wants. God literally sacrificed his own son on the cross so we would not have to endure eternity without him. Then, we brazenly come before Him and ask for more. There is no greater slap in the face. We should be praising Him daily not asking Him for more.

@Steve M This sermon isn't about wanting to be rich, but about perverting Scripture to make oneself a god, able to create wealth via incantation. It's sorcery. Wanting riches is fine. King David went from having nothing, begging for bread at the Tabernacle and feigning insanity in the land of his ensmies, to eventually donating billions of dollars worth (112 tons of gold, plus tons of silver, and various othdr materials he had collected over the years) to the Temple of God. Riches are fine, so long as we earn them honestly, keep them firmly in their place and don't let them rise above God's throne in our heart.

@@stevem2529 I can't help you understand something you're so firmly established against understanding. Your opinion is set, and that's your prerogative. I suggest you surrender your hard heart to Jesus and ask him to soften your view of him, so that you might believe the gospel, which is this... God made man in his own image and set him in a perfect garden, and gave him dominion over the earth, with one command... "Don't eat of the tree in the midst of the garden or you will surely die" and man, in his rebellion did eat, and sin entered all of mankind at that point. And God, being just, required the penalty for the sin of disobedience, which is death, and God, being merciful sent his own son Jesus, who is God incarnate, to this earth to live the obedient sinless life required by God, and also to pay the penalty for sin, which is death. Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, and was tortured, mocked, and crucified unto death, thus satisfying God's wrath, and three days later he rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father where he makes intercessions on behalf of those who have trusted in his death, burial and resurrection for their eternal salvation. What do you say Steve M? Will you receive the gift of salvation that Jesus offers?

Well…..I’ve prayed for my wife, who claims to be a believer and attends Church every Sunday and even teaches Sunday school, to follow Gods Word so that out family can be put back together. I’ve prayed that Gods Word be followed, not mine. But to date, that never happened and now we’re about to be divorced. I’ve always believed Gods Word to be true but if God wont work when all you have prayed for is that his Word be followed, Im having doubts about all of it. Gods Word promises all kinds of blessings and destruction if you don’t and i can tell you, that none of that has happened. She’s as happy as can be live in sin and pretending to be a christian and the church won’t even hold her accountable as it say in mathew 18:15 and Im the one that has been doing everything I can to follow Gods Word, and im the one who broken and being destroyed. Where’s Gods promises now? This has been going on for two years and my kids are the ones suffering the most. God could have changed one heart and his glory would have be put on display for many to see and he has done nothing. At this point, Gods Word just feels like more lies.

I'm truly sorry for what has happened in your life and family. Please do not turn against God because of it. The Bible does not promise that our lives will always be prosperous, but that if we do follow His Word we will face trials in this life. Jesus knows what betrayal feels like in the deepest of ways. He did nothing but good for people, but even His own disciples failed Him. He knows what loneliness and rejection feel like, yet He still chose to save us. He still went to the cross and died for us. People have the ability to accept or reject this gift. God is glorified through truly humbled and repentant hearts. He allows this so we are not robots, that He will have a Bride, the Church, who truly loves Him. God's Word will not return void. I have been an agnostic and by the grace of God I can say without a doubt that God's Word is true. He doesn't always do things the way we think He should do them. He is good. There were many times in the Bible where the Israelites were rebellious and had to go through harsh judgment. God's faithful people often had to go through these hard times as well, but God was faithful to them through it. Think of Joseph sold into slavery by his own brothers. Elijah, who cried out to God thinking he was the only faithful man in Israel and that Jezebel was going to take away his life. He felt like that right after an amazing show of God's glory that proved the LORD is the only true God. How is it that Jezebel's heart wasn't changed even with all that proof? She simply did not want God or the things of God. Think about Jeremiah and how he was treated for simply giving the Word of God to his own people. I pray healing, peace, and restoration for you and your family. Only Jesus can change someone from darkness to light. He will do all things in His own time. Please do not turn against God. He is the only source of true love, righteousness, goodness, joy, and peace. If the grass seems greener in the world, it is because there is a sewage problem. I have lived outside of God's Word and I can honestly say that it is faithful and true. Never give up on the one who loves you enough to suffer and die for you. God bless you brother!

You disagree with John because you are very, very, ignorant of what Scripture says. Obviously you are ignorant of Pr 10:18. Whoever conceals hatred has lying lips, And one who spreads slander is a fool. God says in His word, your heart is hateful, you have lying lips, you are a slanderer and a fool. I know you are going to prove God to be right about you, because you are probably going to respond with more hatred, more lying lips, more slander, and will remain a fool. That's what fools do. But you don't have to continue being a fool, take my advice repent, of your hatred towards John or anyone else, repent from your lying lips, slander and foolishness. God is rich in mercy. Remember God has no pleasure in fools.

Would love to have heard rather how Calvinist John does pray. John believes God determines each person either to be saved or damned forever before they are even born, before they are ever given a chance to hear and believe the Gospel, and that God is the author of evil, and the cause of all sin for His Glory Please be careful to study your Bible to find out if this doctrine of the devil, Calvinism, is true. (Hint: it's not)! 1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV For *_this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;_* [4] *_Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth._*

Yeah, Calvinism always felt off to me. God has perfect foreknowledge and the elect is everyone who will believe the Gospel. I believe God's sovereign prevenient grace enables us to respond to the Gospel in faith. This is necessary for two reasons: one, because we are all responsible for our sins and, like you said, God is not the author of evil whatsoever, and two, because Christ desires a bride that will truly love Him, not a pre-programmed robot with no choice in the matter. Calvinism reminds me a lot more of allah in Islam than the true God of the Bible.

Seems like people are more interested in preaching to control then to preach to lead people to have faith in Jesus christ and to becoming born again with the holy spirit. I would rather serve the gospel that is interpreted with leading people to have a heart like Jesus rather then one that constantly attacks people and makes people believe that following the law of moses is what saves them when the gospel clearly states several times that we are saved by faith in Jesus christ. Which means to seek to learn what Jesus taught us and to change from the inside of us to have repented heart. To have a loving heart like Jesus has and taught us to have. To seek and you will find meaning to seek to find Jesus to come face to face with Jesus and be given the holy spirit. May the truth of Jesus come to all who truley desire the truth of him and not these watered down versions of him that cause people to attack others rather then sharing the same love christ has for us that the gospel teaches us to have.

The prayer " OUR FATHER….." IS NOT A MODEL PRAYER FOR THE NEW COVENANT IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST When he once stayed in a place to pray and had finished his prayer, one of his disciples said to him: "LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY, AS ALSO JOHN TEACHED HIS DISCIPLES." So they wanted to learn to pray the way John taught his disciples. BUT JOHN TEACHED HIS DISCIPLES TO PRAY FROM THE OLD COVENANT BECAUSE THE NEW COVENANT HAD NOT BEGUN AT THE TIME! THEN it was okay to pray "Our Father..." as Jesus taught in Luke 11:1-4! But not since the new covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ began (Luke 22:20) !!! Therefore, in the prayer that Jesus taught, "as also John taught his disciples", Jesus did not mention anything about PRAYING IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST! That prayer WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED THEN, because Jesus had not yet atoned for the sins of the world. Until then, the "Our Father" of the old covenant was valid, but NOT thereafter! Therefore, "Our Father" is never mentioned as a pattern prayer, neither in the Acts of the Apostles nor in the letters to the various congregations! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ For now, we would start praying "in the name of Jesus Christ" See John 4:23-24 and in John 16:22-26 JUST before his ascension, Jesus taught the disciples A NEW WAY TO PRAY that would apply in the new covenant!! After the atoning death of Jesus Christ!! We find that in John 4:23-24 and in John 16:22-26 ❤️//
