There was John Martyn, Nick Drake, Fred Neil, Judee Sill, Laura Nyro, Chris Rea, Clifford T Ward, David McWilliams, Tom Jans, David Blue, and Duncan Browne -- among many more. They were not major stars on the radio or in the music business but they were special. They had the creativity, the image, mystique & always great songs. But few were commercial enough to get them noticed. Theirs is fame that came from respect, from listeners who sought something different, more intense than commercial mainstream music. I miss them all. Those that passed. And each day the list gets longer. I think Chris Rea is the only living artist out of all those names. Great composers, wonderful wordsmiths -- from both sides of the pond.

Thank gawd for Chris Martin recognizing John, but sad that he didn't recognise Beverley's musical talents. One missed in the net Chris.
