I do consider BV a great coach . What people do not realize is what he inherited. Did he make a huge mistake in putting Littrell over Offense. Much of that was timing of Lebby leaving. But let’s wait & see, what happens in the future before casting doubt on BV.

I think he did make a mistake in hiring too many legacy folks and putting himself in this position.

BV is not a great coach. He is less than average as a Head Coach. He is a fine DC but as a HC he is not close. The SEC destroyed him and this program. It WILL continue. They will lose their bowl and that makes BV 6-7 for 2 out of his 3 years. He is not HC material. He should leave or OU should fire him. It's not personal it's business. He will continue to have his but handed to him in the SEC, he isn't good enough as a HC. Also forget the header John Mateer does not change everything, he doesn't. He will have his ass handed to him, like Brent. OU football mentality and philosophy is a loser in the SEC, because they don't have players who are tough. They may rate 3-4-5 stars, but they are soft players the ones OU gets, thats why they are so inconsistent and make such bad plays at critical times. BV is also part of this, he looks desperate because he is. Now recruiting is suffering, BV must go, and take (AD)Joe C with him, he is bad as well. OU has become irrelevant under BV. He is at best a fair HC; I couldn't disagree more with your assessment of BV he sux as a HC to me.

I never thought OU would be happy to be getting WSU coaches and players. If the OC and QB whisper that BV hired are that good then why nor develop Hawkins? Hawkins has elite speed and with the right coaching can be lethal. Remember, Hawkins was a TRUE Freshman playing with the worst line I have ever seen at OU.
@GabeTalksFootball5 күн бұрын
There’s a difference between coaching an already made talent and developing a raw one. To compete in the SEC this year Mateers the choice. No doubt Hawkins is a great talent though
@zophix-57415 күн бұрын
Hawkins can be the guy, but I think its way more beneficial for him to actually get a proper OC and QB coach to develop with for a year before starting.
@MJ-pk4gh5 күн бұрын
The ideal strategy is to get a guy like Mateer in so Hawkins can learn and be ready to take over when it's his time....just we had with Baker and then Kyler. That type of situation would really benefit Hawkins because he'll learn the system and still have an opportunity to be "the guy"
@jimedwards25115 күн бұрын
@@MJ-pk4gh WSU lost to New Mexico and Wyoming. You really think Mateer can light up a SEC defense better than Hawkins? Hawkins is the better athlete

You will eat your words about Venebles - he inherited a horrible team and had to buils the defense up - check, success. He did make 1 critical mistake that set the program back = Seth Letrell. The rest of the issues this last year were the WORST set of injuries that I know of for any power 4 team. Gabe, you "talk football" but that doesn't mean you "know" football. Be a little more humble and loose that foul mouth and maybe you'll get to 1,000 subscribers. I'll check back in the Spring to see if you changed your tune. BOOMER!!!

Hold on there a minute, 6 starting WR out, 4 starting OL out, toughest schedule in college football, that we have again next year, there isn't a team outthere that could withstand that. FACT We also have Hawkins, which should be a 5☆ his stats equals any 5☆ in his class. He's faster than Mateer. He will cartwheel into the end zone for his Brothers to win. Mountain west ain't the SEC. Our OL will be better next year. We'll see who wins QB1 at Oklahoma. BOOMER SOONER

Mateer is older bigger stronger more experienced etc. He can run too, had almost 900 yards rushing last season.
@johnnythompson45924 күн бұрын
John Mateer changes nothing what an in-accurate statement. You forget OU has Brent Venables; you know the coach who has rendered OU irrelevant in college football. John Mateer if he goes to OU (Miami) linked as well, who get his ass handed to him most Saturdays like Jackson Arnold di this year. He means nothing because they are soft on the lines and poorly coached in the defensive backfield and made to order for SEC schools who are street brawlers in pads, OU is not, they are undisciplined and soft and will stay that way under BV. BV is in over his head, OU will continue to fail, this is a fact.

Oklahoma is basically telling everybody to drive up the price and then half your nil funds are gone for other players. Never take BV to a casino with your life savings because he'll put it all in the first hand.

@KillerBrees there are several blue blood teams that need a quarterback. Miami, Michigan even Georgia. Who's got the biggest sack gets the prize. It's free agency so thinking it's about loyalty is fools gold.
