I believe that the OU coaches wanted every "injured" WR gone besides Burks because he tried. The others gave up on the team and midway into the season they didn't want to play for fear of burning their eligibility and another year to make nil money somewhere else. Good riddance.

That’s a great call. After I found out that a lot of the wide, receivers seat, additional help with their injury, I knew there was a problem. I don’t know all the inside happenings but I am glad they purged thr wide receiver room and are getting people who wanna play

my dad and granddad had season tix since the mid 60's. my granddad was at the loss to ND to break the 47 straight. I went to all the home games with my pops from about 76 to 88. I went my own way a bit after growing up in Norman (let's say).......but me and Dad always joked that being a Sooner fan was the one part of his parenting that worked.

Pate speaks of the fraternity of the game. Many players don’t care. They’re just moving around to make NIL money, then will run out of eligibility, graduate and enter the real world. I think he’s right, it’s penny wise pound poor, but maybe not by much and maybe not in all cases.

In 2024, the entire OU offense scored 30 TD's. Mateer himself accounted for 49 so his impact should be pretty significant. That said IMO OL is the key, he wouldn't have gotten 49 TD's with OU's 2024 OL blocking for him. Lot's of work to do but lots of reason for optimism.

On the whole legacy talk stuff.. How many of the kids that are transferring non-stop are actually graduating from college? Part of the "Legacy" is actually graduating from the school you played for which unfortunatly is a thing of the past.

So I was born a sooner fan always will be, I also became a WSU coug fan while Leach was there and kept watching after he left. I literally have my two worlds colliding and it is insane. The 2 best things I can say about Mateer is he is like a faster baker mayfield and watching him last year he improved through the year. From his first games and starting slow and a few turnovers to ending the year sharp and without any turnovers his last 3 or games. I'm excited for Oklahoma and excited to see WSU rebuild once again

JOHN WAYNE MATEER the GUNSLINGER is a cool guy, about 30minutes before the news dropped me and my SUNS were talking to coach BV and MATEER Infront of his office and MATEER took pictures and signed a football for my kids and me and BV were just talking and BV looked really happy like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders, he knows me and my kids from going to the coaches show weekly so he was really cool, I'm happy for BV and it was also his birthday as well, after we chatted him and MATEER jumped in his all black TRX he says Merry Christmas then drives down JENKINS.

I am 33 now but use to go to media days event with my dad back in early stoops years when BV was on staff. BV always made a point to make a shy star stuck kid asking for a picture and an autograph feel special he got life long fans from ones that really know the person he is huh!! BOOMER!!!!!

I 1000% agree with Josh Pate about drawing a line between the haves and have nots in the FCS and give the have nots their own playoff and championship. Then reform the conferences so each one has the same number of teams.

My suggestion is to do live the state of Texas and divide the teams into 2 divisions. In high school that is based on school size but it college you could base it on size, NIL, SOS, wins, player performance etc. You reclassify every 2 years.

I think we saw the lack of leadership on offense. That leadership will mostly come from the QB and when lineman sense fear, that will lead to the tite end, to the wide receiver and running back, before you know it; you lose 6 games and 25 players enter the portal. Hopefully Mateer will be that leader next year
