The thing at 2:16 is just about the best thing that's ever been played on a guitar.

John Mayer's Covered in Rain has the most amazing solos a song can have, in my opinion.

This is THE version of “Covered in Rain” for me. It just gives me all the feels. And those “Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeahs” at the end - whew! Hits you deep in the soul! Epic version of an epic song.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJybia2ZpL2MmLs&pp=ygUaY292ZXJlZCBpbiByYWluIGpvaG4gbWF5ZXI%3D My favorite, other than the "original" from Any Given Thursday.

I knew it would be Covered In Rain when he brought out that guitar. That guitar has only been getting played during CIR and Heart of Life. He also played Heart of Life that night, a song I didn't think would make it on this tour.
@BrianKeeganMusic3 жыл бұрын
His playing evolved so much over the years. As he got older he played slower and far more melodically, but still absolutely shreds at key moments. Mayer has an immense appreciation and respect for music, anyone can see he considers himself a student always.
@TheSeanFW12 жыл бұрын
This version and the Any Given Thursday versions are the best, for sure.

Anyone who was there must've been standing with their jaws somewhere close to their feet. I'd say that these 6 minutes or so are enough reason to keep on living.
@movado350616 жыл бұрын
i knew they were playing heart of life cause they practiced it during soundcheck. My two friends and me got to the concert 6 hours early and watched the band soundcheck and mayer jog around the venue. It was awesome.

He is just amazing. His guitar playing is so creative both technically and musically.

IMO, his 2008 tour was defs the best. He played all the brilliant songs off of continuum, AND he threw in gems like this =0 i wish i could have been there.

thanks man. Hard to tell them apart
@monirom9413 жыл бұрын
@ imprezzi, The jm sig was spawned off the SRV strat that he's playing here. Few things to look out for, the stevie ray vaughn signature on the headstock and the Left handed bridge tremolo.

@YolondaHayes there is no gold hardware, thats his own signature one, first one to be exact, he wanted it to look just like Stevie's. If you look up Lenny/Man on The Side you can see it too. he isnt using Stevie's

Thats definitely a JM sig. strat not a SRV. Pretty much the same except the pickups are modified Texas Specials-Fender calls them Big Dippers. And the neck is slightly different.
