I saw SRV live. Mayer is as good. I have seen Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy.... Mayer holds his own.

You're a lucky man. Also Mayer's still in the business. More glorious years to come. that is, more awesome music.
@bluesk78357 жыл бұрын
Claude Sawyer what really impresses me about Mayer, and what sets him apart, is that he is still willing to put himself into unknown musical situations at a point in his career when people generally fall into familiar patterns. His ongoing stint with the Dead is really marvelous, better than anyone would have expected!

Nick I totally agree with you, but you gotta admit Ed Sheeran is pretty damn good too
@bluesk78357 жыл бұрын
Kars Deelen ed sheeran is good at what he does, but in no way is he a master of the guitar (or any instrument).
@karsdeelen24487 жыл бұрын
Blue Sk nope, youre right about that. John Mayer is just one with his guitar
@Nick-kb2jc7 жыл бұрын
Kars Deelen The only thing Ed Sheeran has in my opinion is a good voice. Other than that he is just average at best. Mediocre guitarist and generic lyrics. Yeah, sometimes Mayer has generic lyrics as well, but his musicianship and guitar skills make up for it.

true! more importantly, we all know that this guy can make every models sound great!
@c.sawyer5547 жыл бұрын
Different tools for different jobs. He always uses a Gibson SG for "Edge of Desire" for instance. The majority of his stuff works best on a strat. "Still Feel Like Your Man" has been done primarily on a Jackson Soloist, which is weird for me to see. It is like an old school metal shredder guitar.

I got "lucky". The VIP packages all sold right out. The TicketMaster Platinum tickets did not. I don't think a lot of people know about those. I was able to pick my own seats too. They were ridiculously expensive but worth it to me. I am kind of a super fan.

this Tuesday I'll see him in Amsterdam. And as all concerts of last 14 years, I'll be somewhere front row. In Holland we mostly don't have seated, but standing. That means sitting in front of the door before noon and wait until 7pm and run run run! As always, the diehard fans that show up early will have a lot of fun those 7 hours waiting :)
