Ego? First of all. It's John fucking Mayer. He is a genius. He can have a fucking ego any day. With that being said, I personally don't find him arrogant at all. He's actually very humble for such a talented and attractive individual. Giving someone such amazing vocals, writing skills, and instrumental skills is just asking for genius. His strengths don't just lie in one place, he's got it all.. I think that's what's truly phenomenal about John..

You need some context here. This is an annual interview for hard core long term fans. The interviewer founded the MSM site in 2001. Richard gathers and selects questions from the members and asks JM those questions. It's for people who want JM to give in depth answer to questions about his art. So it's not ego, it's JM giving a free long interview as a gift and as part of a tradition.

Really? That's standard in every interview. This is a deep cut interview that's not filmed in traditional ways. The camera man is even confused and pans to the interviewer. You must rephrase every question the interviewer asks or else it has not context when edited for an interview segment.
