I loved Thanksgiving in Detroit at 8 mile and Indiana st, in 2014, my friend knocked on the door, you know, guy who watches the neighborhood, and I was separated, and had not heard from my kids or my parents, and this cool man knocks on the door to shovel my walk, and I'd seen him around, and I was cooking a whole Thanksgiving meal, as I am wonton to, as I was 41 then, and I was melting cheese on the stove for my mac n cheese, and so I invited him in, and he was hesitant but I said. Come in or not, I'll leave the door open as I dont want my cheese milk butter combo to burn. And he took a big chance by coming in, cause I was the only white person in the neighborhood and he is a tall strong black man, so he came in and we ate and laughed and drank guiness and jack Daniel's, and smoked weed, and it just meant the world to me that he took that chance, cause, I could a had a prejudice white lover with a shotgun in there for all he knew, miss all my friends at 8 mile and Indiana st
