Her vocals are first take?!?!?! OMG how absolutely AMAZING
@ddt35883 жыл бұрын
Yes! She never redoes her vocals, it's always the original demos that end up on the album. She said in an interview "I never redo my vocals. Never. Never ever... demos have a charisma and an urgency that get lost if you rerecord them". I admire this SO much, and it explains why people connect so deeply to her songs, because you can literally FEEL what she's singing about; all the raw emotion is packed in there. Nothing is ever overproduced. She is one of the realest artists we have today, and I love that she never puts out anything artificial.

I wouldn't call this an interview but maybe more of a conversation between two musicians who also happen to be friends. I think the reason why John shares a lot about himself too is because both of them have experiences that only artists themselves can understand. Anyway, this was such a fun conversation to hear.. Thanks for sharing!

"Do you understand how the game is played now?" "I DO. I DO." "Great. You're down 7 to nothing." Wow, that is the absolute perfect metaphor for life. This is why I love John Mayer so much. He is able to describe everyday thoughts and feelings in such a poetic way.
@juancpgo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, very well described. At the same time, not to be too hard on our parents, but I feel strongly that humanity has great room to evolve in parenting and mentorship, so we could up that score by a great degree. We should to be guided and pushed to experience life in a more connected and direct way (experience the direct consequences of every action we do), and then also have more dialogue with others as we're having them. But industrialization (which includes the school system), virtualization, and all of that has lead us to live in a disconnected and isolated way, so that parents don't even have time or energy to give us much, in terms of mentorship and psychological guidance.
@bbcactus38603 жыл бұрын
@@juancpgo I agree with your sentiment but so many of life's lessons come through lived experience. Telling someone about the pitfalls to avoid etc. just isn't the same as encountering and navigating it for yourself. This and our mistakes are usually a huge and pivotal part of our growth. But I agree that more connectedness, empathy and mentorship in the the world would reap huge benefits especially at an intergenerational level and between different communities.
@Nick-kb2jc3 жыл бұрын
@@juancpgo I somewhat agree with this. It’s a gamble when deciding to have kids because you don’t know how they will turn out. You can have amazing parents and the kids can still become fuck ups. I was almost a living example of this. Thankfully, in my mid twenties, life’s learned experiences naturally taught me how the game is played, and I turned shit around before the score became 36-0. But having good parents doesn’t necessarily guarantee the kid will learn the rules of life earlier. Sometimes it has to come naturally.

I really want to see the Australian show interview that the record company refuse to show. I bet it was different from all the same questions :)
@ddt35883 жыл бұрын
No, it was the standard questions about the album + her life. But it was probably more insightful because it was quite a long interview. The record company only refused to show it because the interviewer missed the email with the album link. His incompetency/unprofessionalism led to the interview being pulled, not the interview content itself.

As a Aussie it was embarrassing to hear about it
@JuiceMyRandomness3 жыл бұрын
@@lozzieelizadesigns05 I just hope his life is not detailed by this. When it comes to world issues it really wasn’t anything. It was about a missed email and an album. Nothing that couldn’t have been laughed at. Media made him out to be a villain.

Phil....Adele do not need John's instability at this time.....Completely listening to her album 30 and all she went through building her life physically, mentally, emotionally, especially after her divorce and bonding even more with her son, others in her life, and the closure with her dying father....she do not need need a relationship with John Mayer , he need to do additional work on himself and also what he really wants...I personally feel she also need to be careful dating Rich Paul ....
@philnicol80723 жыл бұрын
@@seventhchild7270 We 'are all' instable to some sort of degree. Who can truly say they're '100%' everyday !? John's record deal with Columbia/Sony records since 2002, has been more stable than Swiss clockwork. The moral of the story is. You're an Adele fan, and I'm a John Mayer fan. Though i never knock Adele...... Thanks for the essay. 🤓
@Faiunsoldecaralllo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Phil! I agree! Everyone has a default /problem/instable mind from the day we born or the childhood we lived. I don't know much about John Mayer's life (I'm Spanish and I live in Spain, i don't like gossip so I don't know about his girlfriends, bla bla bla, but I've read many times here on KZbin "he's a toxic guy", "unstable guy", etc). Maybe he committed a few big mistakes in the past (I saw an interview of him saying "I was an egocentric pperson") but at this moment he's trying to "repair" his brain/heart (sober the last years💕), in progress to become a better person as we do. Maybe it's time to give him a chance.
