I have the original CD (This goes back over 20 years!) And this song is by far my favorite on the album. You are so right about every point you made. The few audio clips you hear in this video do not do it justice. One needs to listen to the studio track on the CD, with headphones or a great sound system to fully appreciate the complexity. Brilliant all the way to the low C at the end!

Don't forget to give credit to the arranger, Mervyn Warren, who sadly left the group a number of years ago. As great as Take 6 are, Warren's arrangements stand out when it comes to brilliant harmonic ideas.

I think I hear the influence from Take 6's 'A Quiet Place' in the opening synth pad harmonies on John's "New Blues Old Bruise" from the Industrial Zen record...

Ah I have to correct myself - I was fooled by the end of your video. That last sound clip was a different song - "Let The Words." That was the low C that I love! (Same album). Such beauty!

@toomanygittars: Too late to reply to you directly but after listening to both, I agree with you -- a very good catch! For those interested in hearing it for yourself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l37RhqNsYq-soK8 JM clearly gave a nod/tribute to Take 6. I'd add that it returns at ~04:45.

Who knew? Take 6 should be proud or at least humbled.

I wish John would give us the music sheet of this, or whatever he wrote when he analysed it.
