John O'Shea names his Ireland squad for this month's friendlies!

Interim Republic of Ireland head coach John O'Shea spoke to the media at FAI HQ this afternoon following his squad announcement for the upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland.
The big news of the squad is Sammie Szmodics is in for the first time as well as Jake O'Brien and Finn Azaz!

Well John has already got Sammie on board. I love Stephen Kenny and was sad it never worked out for him but its ridiculous for whatever reason he never capped Sammie. He's a huge player to get on board in his prime, class and a goalscorer. Azaz looks exciting also. I'd rather give John the gig than Poyet or a Coleman or Carsley who clearly hesitated and doesn't want it. That said my first choice was Neil Lennon.

I like John and I feel sorry for him to be placed in this role. I fear he is going to be another disaster like Kenny. The FAI are doing everything on the cheap and the results will bear this out.
