His voice.... I think I have literally just fallen in love with a man's voice.... The only simile I can think of to describe that voice, is that it's like the smoothest, richest, warm dark chocolate that just absolutely melts into you. There is no comparison to the way this man performed this piece of art.

He was much better later on, sadly these jerks didn't record a video of his 2010/2011 run, which is infuriating. He had the right age in 2011, The Phantom should be older. He and Katie Hall were heartbreakingly beautiful together, they actually matched the characters unlike others people gush over. John & Katie SHOULD have been the 25th concert phantom and christine. The biggest injustice in the theatre's history what the mercenary goblin Mackintosh did to him after all the years he dedicated to the show. John deserved so much better. I deeply regret have looked up this show, musical theatre is a cesspool.

You described him perfectly! He truly is the "best of all the rest". In my opinion he is the only Phantom to have nailed the performance in every way. Not only is his voice strong and like liquid gold, but he can also act. and that's something most other phantoms have yet to learn. He is the best!

My favorite Phamtom! John is so sensual and his voice transtports me to beautiful places. I just saw him at the 25th Phamtom aniversary! I could watch him a million times! The most beautiful voice. I am fascinated by his gestures when he sings. He is just so mesmerizing. I love you John!

I love the fact that John wasn't afraid of physical contact through the whole show. He is without a doubt my favorite Phantom and second would be Earl Carpenter or John Cudia.

Seen JOJ as the Phantom probably a dozen or so times and each time he was freaking awesome, easily the best I have ever seen and heard and I have seen the show 30 times plus.

He is the best, period. people don't want to admit that because musical theatre is extremely anti-White men. Sadly the only videos of him performing this song are bootlegs and tv appearances, not an official proshot. If they had cast him for the anniversary concert the whole world would know that he is THE Phantom.

Definitely not bad at all. He sings some parts a little too confidently and technical though. Some people knock Crawford's version (though remember he was the original) but he knew how to act it. He had the character down and tbh the song didn't demand technical supremacy. It needed a calm, soft sense of emotional and physical desperation which Michael got down to a T.
