What a great video and response. What Jason says about our culture being over-sexualized is so true yet vastly ignored by so many people. How many times have I mentioned that I have sincere friendships with many of my female friends, only to have male friends assume a "romantic relationship" is in the works. These so called "secret letters" are anything but a scandal; it's a wake-up call to how we treat our friendships with males and females alike.

I had a male best friend in college. I can't even count the # of times people thought we were dating. Our relationship was totally platonic. I even told him he wasn't my type & he was totally cool with that.

Before watching the video I hadn't even thought about the idea of a sexualized society and it's totally true! When I guy is acting very nice to me I tent to think that he wants something more than a friendship and I know this happens sometimes with the guys too. I also used to distrusted when my father went to lunch with a female friend, although my father is a very good man. I know I, we, have to change our "liking" for someone and seeing it as a possible friendship and not a sexual thing. That being said I would like to add that we have to be careful with the way we talk and the words we use to not get into this confusions and falling in the "sexualized friendship" (I apologize for my english)

I can relate to what he said about when two people of the same sex are hanging out a lot. I am a straight female, but I talk a lot with a girl I used to work with at my school. People started asking if I was in love with her or something even though she has a boyfriend and I had a boyfriend at the time. The world really can't understand that I can't just like talking to her.

"Brother Son, Sister Moon" portrays Saints Francis and Clare being in love. She joins his religious order at least partially because of this. It's irritating when fans theorize that t.v. and movie characters of the same sex are in love because they care so much about each other. Jokes where they act like they're dating or people suspect they are sometimes slip in.

I’m sorry, I don’t buy it. Why were the letters kept a secret? I can’t view JP2 the same, not really a fan anymore. He should of quit when he was cardinal & became a politician. As a woman here’s my view. When a single woman “loves” a single guy & you hang out a lot. It most likely means she wants to be in a relationship. In his letters he should of said let’s be friends. Yes. I am in my 30’s, single, plenty of interested men. No, I don’t need a man. Who “needs” someone when you have Jesus. I think I’m the only Catholic that doesn’t like JP2. I feel betrayed.

JPII had a much more severe problem of religious indifference. His praying with the numerous demonic pagans at Assisi in 1986 was perverse, evil. He had the crucifixes covered with cloth in the rooms of the monastery, so the anti-Christ Muslims and jews, who attended this event would not be offended. Jesus is the singular Way to Life. -Joseph
