Truly the most underrated member of Zeppelin. Quietly he was the swiss army knife of the band. He could do it all! Much respect to this multi talented musician.

It wasn’t announced at Zeppelin concerts that John was the only member to take in real classical training as a youngster. People who know Zeppelin well, such as myself, know right well that he was the member who had a very broad understanding of music - more so than the other three it’s safe to say. From choirmaster skills to arranging/composing to proper studio etiquette...the list goes on and on. Jimmy was SO very lucky that he agreed to join up with them in ‘68! The thing that still baffles me is their first record - it sounds as if the four of them had been together for a decade already. In actuality they were together for about three months prior to recording that first record. It’s astounding really. It doesn’t sound like a new group. It sounds like seasoned professionals right out the gate and that’s exactly what it was.
