@@Soxruleyanksdrool Clean comedy is harder, because you can't use language/shock as a crutch. And it's certainly less respected.
@Soxruleyanksdrool2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps I cast unfair judgement on others, but I often assume people who espouse "clean" comedy automatically reject "dirty" comedy. Both types of comedy can be quite funny. And "dirty" comedy can also be quite hard to get right. Just look at the bit from Eddie Murphy (Either Delirious or Raw) when he said, in so many words, that you can't just get up on stage and rattle off swear words or vulgarities. You have to put some jokes in between such words. And the actual jokes he told were very funny. I believe that the mistake people make when they hear any comic utter vulgarities is to automatically make up their mind that such a comedian is, by default, not funny. In fact, they don't listen past the "objectionable" words to even hear the actual jokes. Thus, they are casting unfair judgement and have made themselves unqualified to fairly judge how funny anyone is Carlin, Pryor, Murphy, et al were and are just as funny as Pinette, Cosby, and anyone else touted as a "clean" comedian. And, speaking of Cosby, let's not forget how he was held up as an example of wholesome, family humor. And then we find out what he has been accused of doing behind closed doors. See, there's the way man thinks things are, and then there is the way things actually are. I don't know claim to know much more than anyone else. But I pay attention and I am open to learn how things actually are. I believe that makes all the difference.
@hapgood222 жыл бұрын
@@Soxruleyanksdrool You're right. Some idiots think comedians automatically get a laugh if they use the F word. That's ignorant. Clean comedy. Blue comedy. It's all good.

I can't believe the tempo on these jokes, and how you can picture like a funny movie in your head while listening to how he tells them. That was quality comedy, much better than most (not all but most) of today's comedians. Sorry to know he passed away. May he rest in peace.

I worked in McDonald's for four years. I can't tell you how often I had this conversation: "I'd like a chocolate cone." "I'm sorry, we only have vanilla." "Oh. Can I have a twist?" WHAT DID I JUST SAY!? But the worst had to be the lady who came through drive-thru and ordered a chicken wrap. "Would you like that crispy, or grilled?" "What's the difference?" !!!! "Crispy has breading on it, and grilled is naked meat that's...grilled." "Oh. Does it matter?" "I need to know which one you want so I can tell the grill team." "Grilled, I guess." "Would you like ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue?" "I don't care - pick one." Frank's Red Hot it is, then.
@elizabetherne5566 жыл бұрын
Becky Murphy same thing occurs at DQ. I manage one. Or they order McFlurries. But i know a few of the McDonalds employees down the street. People there order blizzards. Couple of weeks ago i had a car in drive ordering food. Never mind they were creating their own menu with stuff we do not have. What’s that big board with pictures and writing in front of them right? Once they begin to do that then 100 questions starts. I’d like to really just ask what in the world they want.
