This video explains far better than I ever could why John Prine is such a musical force to enjoy forever.

A true storyteller

To those who don't know this: 20% of rear echelon V.N. Members of all militaries became addicted to heroin. Cheap, powerful and more easily available then chewing gum, and all these fine young men were sent home or on to other postings, addicted. I knew fellows who deserted so as not to go home to the states and others who got back to V.N. As civilians less than a week after shipping out. My brothers; all. So many tears.

Those of us with open hearts and minds don't need you. We listen to the music and get it. John Prine, we need. We don't your boring analysis.

He wrote and sang from his heart about things in his life or people he viewed in his life. Don’t get any better than that! Long live the legend!

You either get it or you don't.I've stopped trying to tell people about this great song writer. But have people try and tell me you've got to hear this guy. Thanks John

We just did a tribute to saint jp yesterday at the Santa Fe film festival and Prine clearly brings out the best in people and it seems pretty universal while some people may not have heard of him of all generations few to none who you actually play his music covers or just lyrics would ever say they don't like at least some of it .of all ages...cuz....what's not to like!

I've certainly seen enough to say saint John orine brings out the best in people and while some may not have heard of him at all or may have heard not much I've never nor would i want to see someone hear his words and respond nah j don't like it...I also doubt that would happen like ever. All generations backgrounds ilks seem able to recognize the natural likable relatable genius of the Prine

John Prine was the bee's nuts. The man was a poet laureate of a generation no less than Bob Dylan. I mourn the loss of him.

By far one of my favorite song writers and performers, along with Kris Kristofferson and Neil Young. First two are gone only Neil remains.

Who could not love John Prine? It’s unfortunate to the extreme that this narrative was interrupted by a tRump political ad. Mr. Prine’s basic themes were about the little guy and compassion for the same. I don’t know or really care who is responsible, but I just find it in very bad taste to advocate in an ad for a person who seems diametrically opposed to those concepts of love and respect for everyone.
