I had this album and Sir John when I went off to University in 1971. Have not heard it in decades, thanks to whoever for posting it.

Nowadays, one of the only things that can truly feel me with awe and wonder is finding new music I’ve never heard of before here on KZbin. Many thanks and well wishes to everyone who continues uploading these gems. ❤

If you are hearing this for the first time and appreciate it, you have just stepped through the doors to an entirely new universe. John Renbourn was a legend - a masterful guitarist and a pioneer who greatly influenced the acoustic guitar world. In his early days, he focused on blues, folk, and jazz. Already a legend in th early 1960s, he teamed up with another equally legendary guitarist/composer Bert Jansch (who was a great influence on Neil Young, Jimmy Page, Donovan, and many others). After a couple of albums, they formed the eclectic acoustic group Pentangle. Pentangle turned the acoustic music world on its head. They blended elements of folk, jazz, blues, classical, and Renaissance music styles into a completely new kind of music that still sounds fresh and inventive today. After Pentangle split, both Renbourn and Jansch continued their solo careers, releasing over 20 albums each over the years. Other recommended albums by Renbourn are John Renbourn, Another Monday, Sir John Alot of Merrie Englandes Musyk Thyng and ye Grene Knyghte, The Black Balloon, The Nine Maidens, and (as the John Renbourn Group), The Enchanted Garden, and A Maid in Bedlam.
