John Roblin joined the Army on July 5th, 1944 and was part of the first convoy to go directly to France during World War II. While in the service, John served as an officer with an infantry unit and experienced a good deal of combat and eventually injured his leg. He spent a long time in a hospital learning to walk again. After John had recovered he was moved all over Europe within different regiments. After John served his time in Europe, he remained in the reserves, and was called up for the Korean War in 1950. He again served as an infantry officer on the front lines, and had several other assignments before leaving the military after the Korean War.
