Great playing, much enjoyed it. great chanter sound also, but a shame about the drones. I really miss the deep and warm sound of the cane reeds, which sound far better than all this modern crap.

Cane can work well. For me, I’ve found the modern synthetic reeds are much easier to work with and more forgiving! Much better to have a reed that will stay in tune the entire tune as opposed to one that sounds nice at the beginning but goes off half through! That’s just my opinion though!

you are right sir, however good synthetics have their place though in the right instrument and set up correctly

My teacher first used synthetic reeds when it was time to go on for competition and he simply couldn’t get his cane reeds to tune up in time. He won the competition. He was sold from that moment on.

Nice playing, enjoyed the music; but, gotta be honest, chanter pitch is extreme. Top hand, A' & G' in particular are shrill and even piercing. You likely don't agree, which is fine, it's your sound, but a detractor to the overall experience for me.
