Hard tail, kick start, no seat pad, bad ass, old school style. Definitely not a touring bike. Just freaking awesome what people can do to Harley's.

My buddy who builds old school pan choppers always jokes with me to not sprain my thumb when I fire my Twin Cam. Lol. It's all in fun, I can appreciate the custom builds. Sweet build John, now I have to go sprain my thumb before going to work.

Tremendous…..Matt I like that you feature your employees at times. They are the heart and soul of any business and it is nice to see that appreciated. The subtle thing about a master mechanic is the patience and the ethical wrench on customers bikes….not only are they precious, it is critical that they are well maintained with care. This bike is sweet and I am impressed.

John, congrats on an inspired build. Sometimes less is more...except in the suspension area, lol. Matt thanks for sharing John's passion with your peeps.

Very sweet! Reminds me of my shovel. Agreed, like the softail looking like a hard tail, would love to see a kick start with a hidden mini starter that could start an 18 wheeler. Kicking is fun until you don't feel like kicking. Thanks Matt aka the Jay Leno of motorcycles:)

My first HD was a 1973 Shovel on a 1948 HD hardtail frame w/Spinger front end. Open primary belt drive w/kick start only. Love the look but Now I’d have to go with a SoftTail frame and a TwinCam B motor. My spine couldn’t take the hardtail or the motor vibration. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome but so many questions! I'll stick to 3: What did you do to take care of the electric kickstart timing advance? It's that overdrive or just the 5 speed? With the older f.ywheel, is it heavy enough to potatoe or still stuck at 1000? That's the one thing I don't like about my TC!

I have been struggling with the decision making process, I have a 10 FXDB and have been trying to decide if I want to trade for another Shovel or do something similar to this. I never realized S&S made evolution style TC cases. And it's kick only, that is a major selling point for me. So as much as I would love another shovel, this is where its at, time to make a parts list and start ordering. Did this young man do any kind of build series that could be found to aid in getting the dream to become a reality! If in fact there is no other info on the WWW. I would appreciate any info that would assist in getting my TC the way it should be. Do's, Don'ts,tips ,advise and/or a swift kick in the arse. Gracias for the inspiration !

Mechanic works for Matt Laidlaw 13 years? That's a sign of a good boss and a good stable business and that's the sort of place where you guys should buy Harleys from it means they will look after you ! The place where my wife and i bought our harleys they had a huge turn over of staff every 3 months and once in a while some scum bag mechanic and salesmen would get employed and start to rip you off for commissions. I wish Matt would start a dealership in Australia :) Matt please buy a dealership in Australia, I will work for you as a dealer Principle :) customer satisfaction is my name :)
