John and Nigel. I gave my mother a bougainvillea and after a while I saw that the leaves transformed into the same ones you have. Plus, you touched them and they fell. So, since I knew that my mother watered it with poor quality water (a lot of chlorine) I brought it home. I watered it with osmosis water and iron treatment for iron chlorosis (once a week). When spring arrived and the new sprout appeared, it became spectacular and now it is a very intense green and perfectly healthy leaves. She returned to my mother's house and now she waters it with osmosis water and it continues to be just as impressive. I hope this helps. Cheers 🤙

The blue tree is a rocky mountain juniper. We get those here where I live. The foliage is very leggy, but it is a nice color. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.

I love these bench/garden tours. Thank you. Being enthusiastic about my country's native/indigenous species as bonsai, I find myself sitting up in my seat when someone mentions or shows a native species to your country. Do any people, as we find in my country, exclusively grow native species as bonsai, so have an entire collection of indigenous trees, in your case, to Canada?
@TheBonsaiZone Жыл бұрын
I think most people have a mix, native species generally do well and are hard to kill, so up North here, we tend to have a lot of native trees!

I think the crumbling leaves on the bougainvillea can be too much fertilizer. I have the same type on one of mine and I absolutely hammerd it with fertilizer
@jerry8405 Жыл бұрын
i think i just ordered "shimpaku" cutting-lings on ebay that came looking just like the first tree. i didn't spend much. what is a common juniper anyway? did i overpay for generic juniper chinesis?

Those deformed leaves could be a lack of calcium nitrate in the soil or deficiency in absorbing it
