Heres a thought....Apostles and Prophets are mentioned in Ephesians 2 , 3 and 4....the remaining 3 five-fold ministries are solely mentioned in Chapter 4... Interesting what John says about the British...perhaps in some way they were (dimly !) Throughout the world operating in a KIND of apostolic function??!! See on this. The Pax Britannica trilogy by James. (Jan) Morris. I may be taking things too far...but worth a thought. ESSENTIAL READING The Elijah Task by John and Paula. Still I think the best book on the role of the prophet in the local church....
