As a person of just a few months younger than John, my dad died when I was 9. If he were alive today, and I wish he was every-day, I can't think of anything that would stop me from talking to him. So those of you that have a father, we are all not perfect, you should cherish him. One day, he will be gone. Trust me, you will miss him.

We all go through horrendous things in a lifetime! Many of us have been abandoned by family gone through divorce been sideways with our kids even not on speaking terms! But the only hand up I found was God's unchanging hand! We have to Humble ourselves even if we're not to blame turn our face toward God and rest in his welcoming arms! I will definitely pray for you! Spirit of God can travel to Nashville to your heartbreak! Only God Can Mend a Broken Heart!

Some kids don't know that honoring their parents is a given. Perfect parents don't exist no matter how lavish they decorate themselves. We all mess up, make mistakes and regret them. If we don't, we are less than human. I pray your children learn that lesson and find it in their hearts to forgive whatever they hold against you. They've been so programmed by society that they think whatever goes. I live by what I know to be right and attempt to avoid the wrongs. Let go and let God mend your relationship with them. He will......if you believe.

Don't let it kill you...you are a person very valuable to society at this bizarre point in history ...everyone's journey is individual we are ONLY responsible for how well we act. I suffered extreme abuse from my twin younger sisters... people I MADE HUGE sacrifices for in a chaotic abusive family of origin. As painful as the process of working through the acceptance of their strange "transference" of their anger at our pyschotic mother ..to me ..the reliable "safe" person... I KNEW I COULD NEVER BE SORRY I HAD DONE THE RIGHT THING.. UNDER HORRENDOUS CIRCUMSTANCES ...TO GIVE THEM A LIFE. There IS no understanding of bad behavior and changed values. I ended up being the person who ended the relationships permanently when I found out TERRIBLE things they did to other people... There is NO way to understand and I feel like I wasted so much time and life on two horrible people. I made sacrifices for them....they are now responsible for their behavior and ghastly character (or lack there of)...

John never been where you are except second hand, but was really close to a family that went through a divorce- their kids became like my younger brothers and sister. this family took me in emotionally when some friends divorce really TORN ME APART emotionally. i was never asked by this couple to take sides in the divorce, but every one else wanted me too. saw people i though I knew doing and saying things that just SHOCKED my shoes off. to the day he died the one part of the couple and I were still good friends, lost track of the wife later on. anyhow the family i mentioned were related to him, and when that divorce took place his kids all hated him as well. when he got remarried, one of them tried to destroy their wedding ceremony . and even more sadly when their dad passed away the kids held a PARTY , not out of love but our of hate. when i heard about this it broke my heart. the late Jim Croce did a song, that i heard with my first couple was divorcing that went like this, So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show, I've over come the blow, I've learned to take it well I only wish my words could just convince myself that it just wasn't real, but that's not the way it feels. truer words were never spoken. that song and what became my favorite Jim Reeves tune came both into my life at that time. I wish you kids would overcome their anger and hurt-and that I could talk to them and tell them I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING, and i don't own a whole lot, to be able to hug my dad one more time. I can't erase their hurt or yours, just pray that some day that will happen. Only God knows how much time that is. I hope it doesn't take you leaving this earth before they realize what they all could have undone before than take care

two things i never did when i went through my divorce . 1. never talk bad about her father and 2. never stop him from seeing his daughter . children are not pawns for negotiation . at least i know i did the right thing . any parent who keeps children from their father/mother is not much of a person . so sorry sweet man . this simply is not right .
