Have you ever thought of doing a Philip de Laszlo copy, I think your painting method would lend to a perfect representation. I think my personal favourite of his portraits is his study of the Countess Née Ethel Field.

Another fantastic mastercopy. Its so awesome to watch you paint...was wondering if you could maybe do a video on what brushes you use at certain stages of the painting...and do you have several..for darks and lights? Thanks!

Firstly awesome work as usual! You don't use solvents, right? I'm learning to paint and as I paint at home with my little daughter around I can't use solvents. Bought Sennelier Green for Oil thinner and linseed oil, should be golden with an acrylic underpaint and respecting some of the fat over lean stuff, right? Thanks a lot!

I love watching you paint and have learned a lot from watching. I am practicing a lot of block ins , trying to get a foundation to my painting practice and yours seems to work great for me, rather than filling in all the light and dark at once. I love seeing how you join the planes together and do edges. Im a beginner so thank you for your videos. QUESTION .. do you use very little or a bit of medium/solvent in the beginning of a portrait? I think I use too much gamsol in the beginning then it’s hard to layer. I do understand fat over lean. Maybe it’s the cheap canvas. I want to try the CANSON ..THANK YOU❤❤❤

Thanks, glad to hear you found it helpful! Sometimes like here I use just linseed oil. I don’t have experience with gamsol but I’m guessing it’s mineral spirits? Not sure why it wouldn’t allow you to layer. I’ve read that sometimes beginners don’t use enough paint and too much medium. Helps save money but can affect a painting’s color negatively.

The study turned out so pretty! Can you do a J.C Leyendecker one next? I find that the lighting in his illustrations are beautiful, so I think it would make an interesting study
