I was born in 2012 and I never knew this was a show until I changed the channel to a random channel and the channel was INSP. I fell in love with the show, John Smith, and Robert Fuller. Thank you for this song. This song warms my heart and I get happy tears. A big thanks goes to the Revue studios for producing the show Laramie. And may John Smith and Robert Fuller Rest in Peace ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I just recently discovered John Smith and his series Laramie this year. I was only a baby when the series started and never knew anything of it until I watched Encore Westerns. I haven't stopped since. He and Robert Fuller are amazing together in a series that unfortunately didn't last long enough. Fuller of course went on to Emergency which I DID see as a teen and still watch from time to time. This tribute brought tears to my eyes. As I watch Laramie I will think of John and how wonderful an actor he was and how much joy he seems to have brought to many in television and the big screen. I just wish I could have met him in person one say.

I'm 32 and recently have had the chance to see some "LARAMIE" episodes. I think it's one of the greatest westerns ever made. Both him and Robert Fuller made a great team playing Slim Sherman and Jess Harper on "LARAMIE". Also, I've seen some of John's other tv work too. I think John was a great actor and quiet handsome too.

I never saw Laramie growing up but fell in love with the series on Encore's Western channel. Having spent a lifetime around horses this series is much more interesting to me than reality TV or some stupid rich housewife show. I wish TV never changed from this venue.

John was a good friend of mind and mentor to my husband and constant teaser and clown to my daughter. We enjoyed his beautiful home on the hill while my husband who was a stuntman, got his degree in cinematography. He was kind, generous and loyal to his friends and very talented. Yes, he fought his demons and sadly eventually they took him, however I know John is in a good place now because his heart was right with God and now he is with his beloved Aunt Emmy who he always took care of. John always remembered for our crazy nights laughing ourselves sick up on the hill. Friends always, see you up there.....

Ohh Pamela, what amazing memories! It sounds like you and your family had wonderful times and enjoyed a very special friendship with John! Yes, he certainly was very, very talented. Your description of him is exactly how he comes across on the screen. I think we all have demons of one kind or another. It’s so terribly sad that John’s eventually overtook him. I cannot even imagine all that he went through in his life. I hope, in Heaven, John knows how much he was and is liked, admired, and respected. In just over two months, John would have celebrated his 90th birthday! It’s hard to believe that so many years have gone by. Thank you so much for sharing, Pamela! Wishing you the very best!❤️

This brought happy and sad tears to my eyes. I myself wasn't old enough to have seen many of the episodes. I have recently started watching Laramy. My husband loves the old westerns and got me hooked on these. I used to watch Emergency. That's where I first seen Robert Fueler. I just found out yesterday when Robert (John Smith) died. He seemed like a wonderful man. Him and Fueller made a great team. I missed out on his great life. Thank you Mary for sharing this with us.

Wonderful man and actor. I was only 10 when "Laramie" aired. As i grew older admired him more. Sorry I did not get to see more of his movies or better have met him in person. Thank you all who have done a wonderful job on these memory videos I first saw John Smith at the military movie theatre. My Father was an Army Officer and he liked "Friendly persuasion so much theatre showed that he took us twice being my sister and mother. First time I saw Smitty as a handsome Quaker 19 yr old (?) who got into a boxing match at the local fair. Great physic and beautiful smile and blue eyes. Miss his acting and knowing he is no longer with "us" is a great sadness., But we shall remembr him . Penny Elliott, New Smyrna, Florida

I think what made them so great was good old-fashioned chemistry. You could tell that they got along offscreen as well as onscreen. That rarely happens and when it does, it's incredible.

His good looks belied a very talented actor underneath. Superior. He never overplayed it. Just right. An actor’s actor. Underrated. I watch his Laramie every night when I’m up late, it soothes me, those two young actors and cowboys who had real earnest intentions and were not ashamed to play it that way. That’s been lost. Young men now don’t know how to be earnest, honest, and act like men and I’m not speaking of macho ducks. I mean… it’s hard to describe, but the two characters had it. Respectful, fun, hard work as it’s own reward, kindnesses and willingness to lead and never bending over on their morals to please another less ethical person. Men you could trust and know they’re not going to harm you.m or treat you badly. They were , due to that? Super Hot. LOL I mean hot - have you seen “Run to Tumavaca” in the Laramie series? A very young Gina Rowlands and Bob Fuller were smokin’ hot together; probably the most sexual thing on tv at that time, without any at all being shown of any tv episode allowed back then. Because it meant something to Jess. Fuller played it intensely and with overt masculinity. Emotionally very tuned in. Jess was no ‘ho. LOL That’s what woman like, and I feel sad for the younger women today who have such a dearth of such characters in their lives, real or on TV. ❤️Resting in peaceful bliss, I know Mr. Smith most certainly is that.

Ciao Slim. Love forever. Donatella

Patterson John's cousin...I was named after him (his real name was Robert Errol VanOrden) but I am sure that you know that. Thanks for your time that you put into this tribute for him. I have looked high and low for people who knew him without success. I also understand that he had a daughter. If by chance you read this, please contact me...thanks
