John Thompson has a conversation with Michael Jordan before NBA All Star Saturday night in 2003. This is probably the most revealing interview i've ever seen of Michael Jordan.

I'm beginning to think that J. Thompson is the best interviewer of NBA players. Players have a ton of respect for him and Thompson has a real casual/unthreatening way about him even when he's asking some pretty probing questions. Not neccessarily probing questions in this interview but some others that I've seen.

Apart from Jordan’s incredible and untouchable basketball ability and he's determination and will to succeed. He was a rare breed of player. Never did you see Jordan wear tattoos or beat his chest like an idiot after doing an incredible dunk or laughing and joking around. He was out to prove every night that he was best and was there to win, and it's the subtle little differences like that which set him apart and make him the best.

I absolutely miss John Thompson and cherish the hundreds of hours listening to him on the Westwood One radio broadcasts of games. His opinion was gold to me. This was wonderful to watch.

My favorite athlete and an exceptional coach. I have more respect and admiration for these two public figures than any other Americans I can think. Spotless role models. Off the charts integrity. And pro - American. Better individuals you cannot find. And yes he would have made MLB

Great interview, I'm surprised I have not seen it . The interviewer made a point about jordans work ethic , jordan said if you" have health can play as long as you want ". I want to ponit out many ballers put the work in , but . Just watch out for over training , game of basketball is 48 minutes or 40 in international. So I see no point in practiceing more the 40 a day with physical activity. But can watch footage all day , many people don't Know watching footage of basketball is just as good or better as physical practise. How do you think Kobe become just like Jordan in all his movies. As a kid Kobe's grandparents sent from US to where young Kobe was living in Italy footage of nba games including jordan & Magic. That's how you become a student of the game countless hours of watching. I mentioned about 40 minutes practice working on movies & shooting ,dribbling & passing . But do game speed. So 40 minutes of individual practise high intensity Maybe 40 minutes of pick up game 40 minutes of watching basketball 20 minutes of stretching That's a great workout, not 5 hours of straight of practice. Practice is best in game situation.
