Becoming such a big fan of this guy. Love the fact that all his jumpers aren't 3s. Dude can get that mid-range jumper WHENEVER he wants. Can drop some dope dimes as well. Impressive.

Lol old school comment but just had to say, you were right! By the very next season after this video, 2013/14, he started to enter the top 5 debate. And in 2014/15, that’s when I believe it wasn’t really a question, and he would further cement that all the way through the 2017 season and playoffs, when even his never adoring media started to all agree that he was top 3 and some said that you could argue he was #1 PG in the game since Curry didn’t really play like a true PG. Walls ability to put up historic all around numenrs for a PG( he has 2-3 season stat lines that no one else has ever duplicated when you look at points asssitd steals and blocks) in the regular season, but then up his level of play even more come playoff time? To me that’s what cemented him as top 3 PG and a top 15 player in his young prime before the injuries. He didn’t just produce, but he was super clutch in terms of coming up big when needed, and he also was elite in terms of lifting his team on his shoulders and carrying them past evertone he possibly could. I don’t think people know that the only teams Wall wasn’t able to surpass in all of those 4 playoff runs were ALL #1 seeds. But he won more than he honeslty should have considering how bad the wiz were at giving him an elite team and coaching. In 2017/18, he led the wiz to an undefeated postseason until he broke his hand. They were clealty on their way to a win over the 60 win hawks, he was playing the best Pg ball in the league probably, but that got screwed up when he broke his hand and the wiz lost control of the seires without him. In 2014 playoffs, even tho he was only Like 22/23? And Beal like 20? Somehow they pushed the #1 pacers to 6 close games, the same pacers who gave the Heat everything they could handle. And then in the ironic 2017 seires with #1 seed Boston, people don’t realize just how badly the Celtics bench killed the wizards bench. In game 7, bench points were 44-5. That says it all. Game after game Wall did everything he could to build leads, but the bench minutes would ALwAYS lead to the Celtics getting back in the game. Wall was able to somehow mentally deal with that and just continue to fight to build leads for the wizards over and over, but eventually by the end of game 7, he just couldn’t overcome his teams deficiencies. While that game 7 is seen as the one bad playoff game he had in years, the truth is he was actually sort of dominating it until he got so fatigued. Coach brooks said after the game that Wall asked for a rest in the 3rd qtr, like a normal player gets, but he refused cuz he said the wizards bench was so bad that they cpispnt afford to sit Wall. Normally what you see is a top player will play the entire seocnd half of a game 7, but the issue was that Wall had been doing that all postseason. Didn’t have a chance to rest ever, so he was too worn down by the time they needed him to play through it. I’ve never seen him so exhausted. And that’s what happens when you carry so hard. It’s exactly what I saw from KD in OT of game 7. Nothing left. And that’s why you need real help all pkayoffs, a real bench. Beal came up huge in that game 7, but Wall was just too exhausted from all of the historic feats he had produced to get the wiz to that point. He had 18 and 9 through 3 qtrs of that game. Finished with 18 and 11. If the wiz bench was just able to get outscored by 28,instead of 39, they make the ECF. SMH

this guy has so much potential he needs to work on his jumpshot that is prolly the only thing in his offensive game that is missing. He can be more physical on d as well. but man this guy's speed quickness athletic abilities and court vision are amazing! Can't wait to see this guy be a star

Realistically if that midrange game becomes a consistent facet, he can become top 5 at the position. He doesn't even need to shoot threes. He's so explosive that people are gonna play off with the fear of him going by them to the rim.

I disagree. The only reason that the wizards didnt make the 2013 playoffs is that john wall missed 33 games, bradley beal missed 26, and nene was out until january. but because of that now they got otto porter and glen rice jr. i believe they have a very bright future

although his midrange shots go down in this video, I believe overall his shooting outside of the paint isnt particularly good... if he becomes a deadeye shooter, especially on shots of the dribble, watch out. A combo of his ridiculous quickness/speed and him being able to shoot of the dribble would be flat out lethal

I agree for sure. clippers will be a top 2 western seed this year i find. also, i see the wizards being a 6-9 seed this year, and a 6 seed for sure next year(2014-15) and the season after that, is when i think they will be a top 4 eastern team. john wall, if he gets a jumper, will be one of the top 3 pgs in the NBA one day. He could be a 20 and 10 guy, just like chris paul.

We are in the playoffs for sure this year. We would have made it last year if John wall was there from the start. We were about 7 games out of the playoff with only 5 wins and 28 loses before Wall returns. I think John Wall will follow along in Chris Pauls footsteps and Kyrie Irving will follow in the footsteps of Derrick Rose. Damian Lillard will follow in the footsteps of Russell Westbrook and Austin rivers (Doc Rivers son) will end up a great shooter like Stephen Curry!

Yea i was gonna put Detroit at that 8th spot because they are having a big off season, but i think the raptors are going to shock some people this season! And the clippers are going to be deadly just with the add of Doc Rivers as head coach. They just need to Play harder when playoff time comes around and i think the can get into the finals. They have too many weapons, and Doc Rivers WILL know how to use them!

agreed. the wizard were good with john wall and i think thats a testement to how good of a pg he is. i seriously think he is the NBA's most underrated passer he gets 8 apg for his career and, until this next season, his teams have been bad or terrible. He is like a poor mans cp3 right now, except for the fact that he dosent have a good jumpshot and is more athletic. next year, he is gonna get 20 ppg and 9 apg i think, and become a top 4-7 pg. cp3 still the best pg though.

Nah I say his only real help last year was MAYBE Nene cuz Okafor is mainly there for defensive purposes, he isn't gonna get you a lot of buckets and Ariza wasn't that good. Also Wall and Beal hardly got to play together last year because of injuries so yeah, Wall putting up the numbers that he put up is very impressive. I can definitely see him putting up 18 and 10 like you said if he and his team stays healthy

he is a much better passer and he still gets 18 ppg. im telling you, he could end up being a 20 and 10 pg if he keeps going at it, especially if he gets a good jumpshot. the guy is loaded with talent, and has the potential to be a top 10 pg in history. look, that sounds too much, but he is already a 17 and 8 pg, with no jumpshot. his stats, are similar to a certain LA clipper pg. i dont think he can get as good as him, but he can easily end up averaging 20 and 10

I think Derrick rose is a little better than CP3, but as a all around Point Guard CP3 is better. Derrick Rose is a better scorer and more dominant player than Chris Paul, but CP3 is a all around natural Point Guard. This season will be interesting with everyone healthy!

No, he doesn't. If only three or four teams in the NBA have multiple superstars (Heat, Lakers, Spurs, Thunder) then the game becomes boring because only those teams have a realistic chance of winning. I love teams like the Mavericks, Pacers, and the 2004 Pistons who compete for championships by building their rosters correctly. I have been a Wizard fan since 2008 and I have seen some terrible things happen to the team (Arenas gun incident, terrible losing seasons). This team will compete in time.
