John Lennon's comment about how John Wayne's lack of connection to his feminine side resulted in his death is just about the depth of analysis one should expect from John Lennon. He was a musical god and very, very little else.

No body else besides John wayne and John ford were using mexican and indian actors and paying them from that era

I love westerns, Gunsmoke, bonanza, tales of wells Fargo, Laramie, the Lone Ranger, Etc, Etc, Etc the westerns were our way in the 1800's to 1900's its embedded in our country if it wasn't there would be no Billy the kid, or ma barker & her son's, or bat masterson, that's the history of the wild west.

@@FactsVerse when Chester was dragged by max bare jr after Matt dillion told him to ask those 2,guys to stop bothering the woman on front st in dodge city, then Matt found Chester he was pretty banged up about 5 miles from dodge city, that was 1 of my favorites but all the episodes were great, with doc, miss kitty, Chester, Matt, Mt Joan's, there were,all good actors.

He will ALWAYS be an icon for American Freedom. He was "The Duke!" He lobbied extremely hard for our right to own firearms. At the very, very end he was making everyone crazy in Hollywood and Texas. I hope you've been in a good place and happy with all the Angels that watched your movies😂😂 Rip Duke Rip ❤️❤️❤️

Acting is a business. It's meant to make money for those who act, and also for those who produce the content. People who hate abundantly successful actors like John Wayne are the sort of people who have no friends in the business.

@@FactsVerse - It's been ages since I've seen a John Wayne movie, but I recently managed to see True Grit. Interesting how the co-star Kim Darby was once a guest star on an original episode of Star Trek.

Wayne was taught how to be a Cowboy by Wyatt Earp, not the Spaghetti Western way. That's why him and Eastwood didn't see eye to eye, on how to be a Cowboy.

They never could get John Wayne into doing Series T.V. on westerns. He was strictly into Movies. In 1955 before Gunsmoke made its debut he was originally chosen for the role of Matt Dillon but he declined and recommended James Arness who played Marshall Dillon.

It's weird that Sammy Davis Jr. & John Wayne could be friends if John Wayne was racist.
@schaffermatt
@schaffermatt 2 ай бұрын
He had a lot of minority friends (trying to avoid saying ‘some of his best friends were minorities, lol), and hired quite a few for his movies while recommending others for work in other people’s films. Basically, if you were his friend, ethnicity didn’t matter. At least in reference to the now-infamous Playboy article, there seems to be a lot of difference between what he said and how he lived.

I doubt , John wayne was ever jealous of Clint, they just had diffetent views on how a western movie was shot. And as for him being a racist, thats not true either , he loved spanish women , he often used mexican and indian actors in his movies

Why did John Wayne never serve? It's unfair to say that John Wayne deliberately avoided being drafted. He was either 34 or 35 at the start of World War II so he was too old for the draft. Also, he had at least three minor children so he would have been exempt on those grounds too.Apr 23, 2023

@@theresaduncan1081I agree with you. Wayne made several of those troops films or whatever they called them. Wayne was not the racist actor some have tried to attach to him. His wife Pilar said he was not a racist at all. I tend to believe her and some other actors that worked with him.

Hardly. He applied to Bill Donovan for OSS, and Donovan, Marshall and Roosevelt all agreed that he was doing more for the cause making flag-waving war films than he would be as an enlisted man at the front, or making training films like most of the stars who enlisted did. Read some biographies on this guy.
