Hey guys, part of the reason the John Wick series is so popular especially among gun owners in America is that the choreography is largely based on REAL WORLD gun tactical training that Keanu Reeves received. Now obviously this isn't how real life self-defense situations occur, but the point is that they mixed movie magic and real world tactical maneuvers together to make the gun fighting scenes, which is something movies have never done before. For example, in a typical Hollywood depiction of a gun fight scene, a person will walk into a room with arms fully extended but in real life, room clearing involves holding the gun tight against your chest when you round corners so that any assailant cannot reach out and grab the gun from your hands. You see that a lot in the John Wick series. He will hold the gun tight against his chest muscle as he blasts his opponent. I would also just like to emphasize that this is 100% entertainment. For legal gun owners, gun ownership and handling is part of a larger American theme of self-sufficiency, strength, and independence. For example, an American aspires to know how to handle firearms, CPR/medicine/first aid, plant a vegetable garden, survive in the wilderness, dig a hole and install a fence, put an addition onto the house, can food, fix a car, repave the driveway, etc. So the use of guns in defense of self and others is considered to be like a civic responsibility, not part of a "might makes right" (i.e., the notion that a person should do a thing just because he has the power to do so) criminal lifestyle.

Keanu Reeves started doing martial arts training for the Matrix movies. apparently Keanu Reeves liked doing martial arts, so he kept doing Kung Fu. Well for the John Wick movies. Not only did Keanu Reeves learn Jui Jitsu, but also learned how to use different firearms. Like pistols, rifles, and shotguns. With real world applications. Keanu Reeves trained for months on not only how to use firearms, but to use them correctly. Add some movie magic, boom you got John Wick.

An ancient order called Assa-sins used to accept only gold as payment (weight in gold) for their services such as espionage, murder, or counterintelligence. It adds to the believability of the movie since there is precedence in real history. Some even argue that this is the origin of the Beggars Guild in China's past as well as the Ninja of Japan. If I may add a personal note, people who do work in military, intelligence and kill or capture squads must keep their feelings firewalled so they don't get in the way of what must be done.

Sadly the actor who played the man behind the desk at The Continental where the Assassins could meet but not kill each other or face the highest penalty died recently. Nobody is written by the same John Wick writer and has the same action/fun. There is an upcoming sequel to the John Wick 2, 3, 4 films called Ballerina. Another film with the same action is the Liam Niessen film TAKEN.

“I love that dog.” Well, oops! True story: My wife walked out on the scene with the dog. It took me over a year to get her to see the rest of the movie. Hey, I would highly recommend “The Equalizer” & “Taken.” They are even better! Good job guys! P.S. The guy who was the older villains assistant does some of the funniest commercials for car/home insurance, in the U.S. I will try and attach them for you in a second comment.
