17:34 This is one my favorite scenes in the movie. It's kind of humorous scene, but then I found out later in an interview with the actor that played Francis (Kevin Nash) that Francis and John were speaking in code. When John asked about how much weight Francis had lost Francis said in Russian that he had lost 27 kilograms, which is roughly 60 pounds as it said in the subtitles. What he was actually telling John was that there were 27 guards inside the club that John might have to take out. This is why John gave Francis the option to take the night off.

There is a ton of coded language: dinner reservation = Body cleanup/disposal, noise complaints = conducting “business”, did you lose weight = how many bad guys inside etc etc.

Just a little background if you were not paying close enough attention. John's wife Helen was the Vet that ran the shelter, that was how she arranged the Beagle. It was there that he knew there were medical supplies to treat his wounds. The dog he got at the end was scheduled to be put down and as they walked away they passed the spot where Helen collapsed.

The crow was a comic first, and brandons body double is the creator and director of john wick, but the john wicl comic came after the movies

So, Marcus asked very specifically if the Contract was "Exclusive". When Vigo said it was "Open" because it was a "Timely Matter", Marcus decided to "Accept" so he could keep eyes on John. Had Vigo stated that it was exclusive, Marcus would have declined and thought nothing else of it because John can absolutely handle a 1v1 on everyone. Where DON'T you know Sir Ian McShane from?!?!? LOL. The man has been in a ton of stuff from Game of Thrones, American Gods, and Magnum P.I. to, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, Agent Cody Banks, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Chest shots (Even when they aren't fatal) help to incapacitate, thus leaving the enemy open to a guaranteed finish after. A healthy live target with full mobility provides a very unsteady target for a headshot. 2 to the chest takes them down. 1 to the head finishes the job. That wasn't all of Vigo's money. It was a "Stash" that had money, coins, and, as Vigo said, leverage. However, that wasn't Vigo's "Only" asset vault.
