My dad has been recommending Gotham to me for the longest time but I never minded it too much coz I was busy with work and thought it was just another Batman series. He meets his biological father and things seem looking up. Except his step family hates him and accidentally poispns said father. Penguin discovers the poison by testing it on the family dog.

in season 2 penguin killed the family dog when trying to see if the decanter that his dad drank was poisoned, it was so the dog drank it and died, but later in season 5 he gets an english bulldog named edward that he grows very fond of
