Charon is probably my favourite supporting character in the whole franchise. Aurelio being a very close second. Lance Reddick just has that charm and magnetism about him. I also love how subtly they build out the world around John & Winston & The Continental, it's all just so natural and unassuming with no huge exposition dumps.

This was the best of the four, in my opinion. The gearing up scene was awesome and the planning he did for his job was incredible. It brings that anguished scream of his into focus: he knew he was going to be betrayed, and he knew there was only one response to that. From the moment Santino showed up with the marker, John had no way out and he knew it.

Kali is a Hindu god often associated with death and violence, but i believe in that scene there is a double meaning as he was just freed from his marker. Some Hindu sects believe that Kali gives "moksha" (liberation).

I mean we can sympathize with John all day but Vigo was right. John is being rewarded for his misdeeds earlier in life. We have to remember that John was a professional assassin so who knows how many people he's killed. Its just unfortunate that it's all catching up to him now

Something I didn't appreciate until recently was just how *insistent* Winston was when getting Santino to cancel the marker. Recall earlier that he told John the punishment for killing the holder of the marker is a death sentence. So, was Winston clearing Johns way? Given how he's treated John through the series, I think it's fairly clear that Winston was helping John out by having Santino clear the marker.

John killing Santino in the Continental was really his only choice. If he just walked away Santino's contract would've still been open and he would have assassins after him anyway. Meanwhile, Santino continues to take over New York, and he very well could've taken the Continental after taking the city, so John wouldn't have been able to stay there anyway. He also promised to take Santino out to Laurence Fishburn's character, so there wouldn't be a war. Killing Santino only changed John Wick's circumstances slightly, but he got his revenge and Santino's take over was stopped.

Just so you know a suppressor on a gun is not that quiet. It reduces the sound just enough that you don't need hearing protection but probably still should where it. Suppressors, suppress the sound of the gunpowder but the bullet breaks the sound barrier creating a sonic boom. So even when suppressed they are really loud. If you get into subsonic rounds it's much more quiet but you still will hear the gun fire.

Suppressors don't work unless you use subsonic ammo. I have known this since I was probably 5 years old so there is a slight chance this world wide assassin organization might have figured that out by now.
