John Williams guests on The Val Doonican Music Show

Was lucky enough to see Val in concert, in his 80s but still a great entertainer. An underrated man, particularly as a guitar player. See him play with Sky on one of his shows, he was right on it!

What a beautiful song, it reminded me of all my ancestors, some of whom came from Ireland. Val Doonican had such a sweet, effortless voice and so sincere and professional. Great guitar playing by both artists. I think he called the song "The Settlers".

Val didn't just come out of nowhere, he'd had many years experience playing guitar & singing in various bands & groups. A talented guy. No Z Factor back then. John Williams - nothing needs saying.
