The man is entitled to protect his music any way he likes, just as we are allowed to have an opinion of the way he chooses to protect his music. Do you love John Zorn? We'd love to hear your story.

But very mean spirited it seems! (It's OK, we love him too really. We respect his right to refuse us permission to play his music. It makes us sad though!

It's true! He owes us nothing. But we can still decide for ourselves whether he was rude or not.

He seems to have a Prince mentality towards copyright and the internet, but it must've changed because in the past month or so almost the entire catalogue of Tzadik appeared on spotify

That's his record label, right? Is John the controlling entity for that label? I imagine it's hard for any commercially driven musician to avoid the black hole that is Spotify.

@@TheListeningEyebrow it's his label and he's definitely the one controlling it.

@@rafaelfernandeslopesdeoliv1700 The only possible conclusion is that he hates us specifically. I don't feel so bad about this video now!

I can only hope he's come around a bit to the reality that his music has been a bit too tightly guarded by pirates and cork-sniffers such as myself. It deserves a bit more light, and most people don't frequent the same spots anymore to explore music.
