Mr. Zraick is badly misinformed about the history of the Bentley designed engine as used by Aston Martin. It was not used for 3 years but rather about 12 years. David Brown acquired both AM and Lagonda in 1947 and the 2.6 Lagondas that immediately followed used this engine and then it was put in the DB2 Aston Martin, starting in 1950, continuing until 1959 with the MarkIII. Obviously it was enlarged to 3 liters in 1953 for the DB2-4 and Lagonda 3 liter series. In racing, I think it is fair to say the Aston Martin was known as rather a frail car, not as a paragon of reliability as per Mr. Zraick. .The team entered all sports car championship events in 1954 and had only one finisher all season! There is also a story about Peter Ustinov driving his DB2-4 in France and abandoning it by the side of the road when it broke yet again. Perhaps apocryphal. The Aston Martin that won at LeMans in 1959 was the DBR-1 which had a newly designed engine - perhaps by Tadek Marek?

actually the one thing I don't like about the car is that it's blue.. it makes a beautiful car look like a London cab...

There is so much wrong with this video that it makes me wonder if John Zraick knows anything about the DB MkIII. The engine is a Lagonda engine was designed by Willie Watson while WO Bentley was chief technical designed at Lagonda. The engine was used for more than 3 years, in fact it was used for 10 years in the DB2 through to the DB MkIII. David Brown absolutely did not work with Bentley to fit engines to tractors, that's total nonsense. With that piece of clap-trap I gave up watching but there's almost certainly more made up rubbish. Please do not take anything in this video as fact regarding Aston Martin in the post 1948 era under David Brown.
