@soWHATimUGLY Thanks for your comments What is important is that we read the scriptures in context and we should use the original meanings of the words as they were written and meant to mean.

This is a discussion of what scripture teaches-Man is unity- Adam being the first Man was Unity. God called Their Name Adam. Meaning that the person of Adam in God's eyes was not just 1 individual person but that Adam was collectively made up of two distinct persons. There is two tpyeps of One to be scriptural- your only seeing 1 of them. Lets continue the discussion privately and personally if you like. Love in Christ but we are smothering the forum here.

Jon 1:17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah: Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luk 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: Luk 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, Luk 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; Luk 16:23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Luk 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: Luk 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Luk 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. Luk 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Act 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1Pe 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Gen 2:24 between husband and wife are NOT one flesh, coz husband and wife are visibly two flesh in ONE marriage. For example, if the husband comitted shoplifting, then ONLY the husband gets arrested, NOT both of them get arrested.

I understand what you are saying and why you are saying that. I was trying to add clarification about Man or Mankind not that I was trying to interject it into the verse in question. What I am saying about the verse in question is that the person ADAM is revealed as two distinct persons. Gen 5:1-2 This shows a unity within the Person called Adam. So two distinct people are collectively called this person Adam. That is all- so why can't God be of composite unity like in this example of Adam?

Well they are considered one flesh. But God did see them as one flesh-not as a group. You keep wrongly misunderstanding what it is that I am showing. Not saying that they are one individual they are distinct in their persons but carry the same nature and essence and Adam was collectively seen by God as two distinct persons - not saying Eve was Adam the man or Adam was Eve the woman i am saying that Adam was collectively identified by scripture as One flesh that collectively consisted of two ppl.

In addidtion Lord knows I would not defend 1 John 5:7. But the church readily admits to that not being in the more credible writings. The Trinity is based on so many other scriptures, it certainly does not fall apart from not depending on this verse. There can be many reasons why it may have been placed in - rather than assuming someone fabricated a lie. There are so many verses that support Trinity-an addition of 1 John 5:7 really wouldn't ne needed to prove it.

The two distinct individuals were Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and sissy Adam. Similarly, a bunglow and a villa are two distinct residences, NOT one home to pay property tax, coz must pay property taxes for two homes or residences.

Let me ask a question are you seeing Jesus as one person with two distinct natures . I think if we divide the deity from his humanity we then are forced into creature worship aren't we? If his feet were held and his humanity bowed to then i would have to assume his humanity was divine as well. Are you seeing Jesus as two distinct persons? If the word was made flesh and the word was God then i would assume that his flesh was also God?

the tesimony of scripture is that both distinct individuals are indeed called Adam Gen 5:1-2. Man comes from two distinct persons collectively making man or mankind. It is the composite unity of man being at man's beginning two distinct persons making up Man collectively.Thus it is not an impossibility that God can be made up of more than one person collectively just as 1 complete man is comprised of 2 distinct persons collectively thenour 1God can be comprised of more than 1 person collectively

Of more than one element, that is not what i am saying - water for instance is the combination of more than one element as you have said. 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part Oxygen.Thus H2O- Water. That is not the type of unity I am talking about. Gen 2;24 shall a man leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall be ONE (echad) flesh. They could not be One flesh is she were of a differing element. It would be like mixing a human essence with something else not human.
@007bfitz
@007bfitz 12 жыл бұрын
Christ's body retained its humanity but had something added to it. Immortality- to sum it up it was no longer a natural body but now was a super natural body. mortality had immortality added to it, something is put on humanity in the resurrection. The natural becomes super natural a body that is suitable for both heavenly and earthly requirements. Jesus ascended both bodily and visibly retaining his humanity and will come back in like manner and is still today the mediating man for all of us.
@007bfitz
@007bfitz 12 жыл бұрын
cont: but then again isn't just like God to give us finite creatures a question that will take eternity to answer. lol. So if his body was not also God then that makes his body a creature, I think it would be safer to assume that was the body of the creator instead. Not saying you are saying that.
@007bfitz
@007bfitz 12 жыл бұрын
Somethings are a mystery about God- we only know in part anyways.. we as finite creatures have a hard time understanding an infinite God-and yes its aggravating, but scripture does attest that Jesus did in fact raise his own BODY from death. Tear down this temple (his body) and in 3 days I (Jesus speaking) will raise it up. Jn 2:19-21. I think even though we may not be able to mentally comprehend things about God we can at least still mentally apprehend -whether we understand it or not.

We have to deal with the logic that their can be unity within the Godhead just as their can be Unity within Man. Adam was not just the male but also the female for both are called Adam.Gen 5:1-2 but yet Adam the man was distinct from Adam the female-simply speaking they were of the same nature that qualified them to be called Adam. So if its not an impossiblity within Adam (MAN) then why is it an impossibilty when it come to God?

If as you said "There are so many verses that support Trinity" are true, then - Why don't you quote just one verse that is as close as or stronger than 1 John 5:7. I doubt you can do that, coz Matt 3:16 talks about 3 personalities getting together at Jesus' baptism does NOT make one personality or one person..

Let me quote Gen 5:2 (male and female created he them;and blessed them, and called THEIR name Adam).? It does not say he called HIS name Adam does it? So it appears I have NOT distorted by scriptures use of the word THEIR as it relates to Adam. So please read the verse in question and let me know if it says HIS? or if it says Their as it relates to the person of Adam.
@MultiNoNonsense
@MultiNoNonsense 12 жыл бұрын
You have misinterpreted Gen 5:2 by saying "Two distinct individuals (persons) possessing the SAME nature and Element that were seen in God's eyes as 1 person collectively.", coz 2 individuals or 2 persons getting together collectively do NOT make 1 individual nor 1 person BUT make 1 group. God's eyes should NOT be falsely attributed that way.

If i have oxygen and another oxygen it would not be of more than one element it would be the same element. Echad as it relates to man and woman if they were of more than one element then they would have a different type of flesh thus they could Not be One flesh. They are the same element thus they can be One flesh. It is biblically sound to have a compound One of the same essence, as well an singular One. God is not ruled out as a compound one of the same essence.
@MultiNoNonsense
@MultiNoNonsense 13 жыл бұрын
@polopowers1 Your stating that "Christ, Father, Spirit is the long held doctrine that they are One entity, One Spirit essence." is reminiscent of 1 John 5:7 about "these three are one" which has recently been deemed a fabricated lie made by the scribes based on the most ancient Greek scriptures translated into modern Bibles like the RSV, NRS, and others. Logically speaking, 3 persons cannot be 1 person and 1 person cannot become 3 persons.

Brother -yes he arose bodily I agree and prsented his body as having the same nail prints- even said he was not a spirit. Flesh and Blood is an idiom for corruptible man, that a corruptible man of flesh and blood cannot enter - but mortality must put on immortality meaning that something is added that is if you put something on. Something is added to humanity and that is immortality. Paul said after the resurrection that the Man Jesus Christ is mediator. Christ is still a man always will be.

Let me ask you a question can One Flesh be made of two people? There is a single type Oneness and there is an compound Oneness. You did not answer my previous question. Are two people called Adam in Gen 5:1-2? Read the verse. Also can two people become One (echad) flesh according to Gen 2:24? We find in scripture both a single-type oneness as you are speaking of and we also find a compound -type oneness that I am speaking about. I am showing you another type of Oneness that is biblical.

I think the point oo7bfitz that you are trying to Make is that if Adam consists of 2 distinct persons then why does anyone have a problem with the possibilty that God can consist of more than one person- collectively just as Adam does- God says "Let Us" make man. God said "Let Us" confound their language. God said whom shall we send who will go for "US".Its clear when we study the OldTestament in light of the NewTestament that God's nature is revealed as Father,Son (eternal Word)and Holy Spirit.

Hoogz20 I would think that if Jesus was of created origin his origins would not have been declared by scripture to have been from eternity. Micah 5:2. The word in Jn 1;1 is delcared to be a person..and the Word was God. Jn 1:1. The Word was "With" the God- with implies two in relationship, but yet both are called God. Another ? who is the Shepard in Psalms 23? Yahweh God is but yet we have Jesus claiming in Jn 10:14 saying "I am the Good Shepard". This is a claim to be the Yahweh of psalsm 23.

Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," clearly contains a grammatical error, coz it's plural "names", NOT singular "name" since 3 persons are obviously NOT 1 person, where in the doctrine of Trinity even the Father is NOT the Son NOR the Holy Spirit. Who begets children in Trinity??? ONLY the Father does that.

The Father ofcourse is identified as God-usually designated as ho theos in the Greek-we know The God is eternal.But what about Jesus according to scripture is he also eternal?Micah5:2 says that he is.Jn 1;1says that he is-that he existed before time, with time, and forever and that he was with the God=the Father and was yet God.Jn1;1The Holy Spirit is eternal and carries all the attributes of a person and is called God.Acts5:3-4 so since God alone is eternal then these 3 must be the eternal God.

cont: Its not logical that God can die I agree, but its not logical that God would choose to place himself into a creature that was not God according to the Flesh and then have that creature inculded in (his) worship. Matt 28:9 being the prime example of Jesus' flesh being held by the feet as his disciples prostrated themselves before his human person. Now if that flesh is not also God -then we are forced into creature worship by God himself- thats not logical.

But Christ was the fullness of deity bodily in his own person Col 2:9-without the Father and the Holy Spirit being named. Christ in his own person was the sum total of deity, not dividing the Godhead of course but at least from scripture we see that Christ was the sum total and fullness of deity in his own right and person-not denying the Godhead though. If we divide the deity from his humanity then it would not be logical to worship him and hold his feet during worship. Matt 28:9.

No doubt Eve came out of Adam, bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, thus they were of the SAME element or essence, but in naming them-she was named Adam along with Adam and was Blessed as Adam, after she was taken out of Adam. Gen 5:2 Male and Female "created" (past tense) and blessed (past them) and called (past tense) "THEIR" name ADAM when "THEY" were created. Two distinct individuals possessing the SAME nature and Element that were seen in God's eyes as 1 person collectively.

I believe that God is a spirit, and all 3 are attributed as God. The Father, the Eternal Word, and the Holy Spirit. I just believe that the person "the eternal word" Jn 1:1 was made flesh. Jn 1:14 and that this word was God. I think its best that we see Christ as one person with two natures. As opposed to seeing Christ as 2 distinct persons with 2 distinct natures. After all the humanity of Christ was bowed to in worship and his feet were held as he was worshipped.Matt 28:9

You distorted Gen 5:1-2 in stating that "So two distinct people are collectively called this person Adam", coz ONLY one of them is called Adam; that is, they are both called "mankind" or "humanity" like 3 angles make 1 triangle or 1 govt of more than 1 political party. Gen 5:1-2 is wrong, coz Adam was the first man, but Even was the first woman, NOT the first man. Gen 2:24 is wrong, coz (echad Flesh) between two persons would visibly show two flesh, NOT showing one flesh.

lets think a little deeper than that. it was two distinct individuals that had the same nature. that is all- not saying anything about the sex of Adam. That two distinct persons were known as Adam- that is all. Composite unity. If this is possible for Mankind or Man, then why is not composite unity possible for God as well. 2 distinct persons were Adam. Why cannot God be made up of more than one person of the same essence or nature like Adam?

but let me ask you -was Jesus the man worshipped? after all his feet were held and his feet were wiped with the hair of a woman and washed with her tears. ? if Jesus' humanity was not God then we have a classic example of creature worship dont we? can we discount his Deity within his humanity at death then we also have to discount his deity while he was being worshipped in the flesh? Christ was not only divine in his spirit but was also divine in his flesh or he would reject worship in the flesh

Jesus as a man cannot be a man if he is God even if he is in the form of a man. Its like saying if I make a Jesus suit and I go inside it and act like Jesus that still would not be another person it still will be me. So Jesus cannot say he does not know the hour when he really does. I know what your saying and I can understand what your saying I'm just not convinced that Jesus is God. I cannot say I do not know somehing when I really do Especialy Jesus for he had that power to know if he is God

Your confusing a compound element in this assumption. If you have an element and you have another element of the same it is not an additional element. By your definition of element man and woman are not two differing elements they are both equally human and equally of a human essence thus they can be One (echad) flesh. God is Not more than one element-his essence is of the same element. Trinity is Not a Tri-theism. I could see your arguement if it was a tri-theism but that assumption is wrong.

then God would be placing in front of us a creature that we would have to bow to and a creature to hold -that is not logical, because the testimony is that the creature was prostrated to and held during this worship. So Jesus body' had to be the creator's body and thus not a creatures body. To avoid creature worship. God would never place a creature before or in front of his worship. By this logic because of God's existing in us- by the same token someone could bow to us and worship God N us ugg

The bible is God's word so its ultimate author is God- so God has explained his being in scripture in many ways- in some ways we also share in similair type attributes but what about the attributes that are only inherent in God. Such is existing eternally. We are created beings of course so we do not share in that type of attribute- Only God has the attribute of being eternal and uncreated. Who in scripture shares this same attribute?

The Son of God-means Deity-why? because it made Jesus EQUAL to the Father in every respect (ison)-ts a claim to total equality with God the FatherJn 5:18, same RANK, Ho Theos=The God Matthew 1:23,Jn 20:28, same eternal Nature Jn 1:1, Jn 8:58, Rev 1:17 the eternal one-don't be misled by those applying that the Son of God means anything less than equality with the Father its unscriptural to assume as such. They emphasize his humanity but forget he is self existentJn 8:58- The eternal one Rev 1:17.

You distorted Gen 5:1-2, coz the term "mankind" or "humanity" is the plural noun of more than one person. Similarly, the divinity of Zeus and Apollo were the ancient Greek Gods like the divinity of Jesus' Father and Jesus are the Christian Gods. Do you know of any property tax cheater who claim having one home for having two houses?

I can add and Open the Eyes of of the Christians of today and let them know when the question is asked who ran the universe well first of all the father is on the throne second of all you have the wrong understanding of the universe the Earth is stationary that means it doesn't move they are also is flat it's not round like a ball I know these things to be true because they are in the Bible have a nice day and learn the true creation story and not the one they gave you in school

@MSA6001 Jesus is God why? because the word declares it John 1:1, John 20:28, There is only one God why because the word declares it. Isaiah 43:10.

So, your line of reasoning shows oxygen + oyygen = more oxygen; "Echad" man + woman = flesh LIKE mankind + animals = flesh also; and one compound = one group of elements LIKE 3 persons = one group of People or simply mankind. On the contrary, the Father begets but is NOT begotten, whereas the Son is begotten and NEVER begets. So, they BOTH are NOT from the same essence.

If Jesus is God then How do you explain this scripture New International Version (©1984) Mathew 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.... How can Jesus be God yet does not know the hour yet knows the hour as God. does not make sense to me

@ConfrontingIslam Thanks for the info If all power was given to Jesus then he still cant be God as God cannot give himself his own power. You cant separate the body of Christ from the consciousness of God and speak as if separate beings and yet merge them. Either they are separate beings or one person and as the bible makes statements as if they are separate beings I would imagine therefore they are separate beings

Adam and Eve are called One person "Adam". Gebn 5:1;2. Eve was named "Eve" by Adam but God named Eve "Adam". Your problem is not really with me-it is your understanding of scripture. What I have shared with you comes from scripture. God is the Father, Jn 17:3, God is the Son Jn 1:1, Jn 20:28, Jn 8:58, Rev 1:17, The Holy Spirit is God Acts 5:3- so somehow these 3 must be the ONE GOD whether you understand it or Not. (Walter Martin) anyways i asked you to speak privily with me. Good day.

The Bible has the being of God- which is spirit declared as One God. Whatever type of being that God is..whatever he is he is One God. This one God in Gne 1;26-27 says "Let Us Make Man in Our image... The US and Our refer back to God of course in the context- to Trinitarians this provides along with other verses a possibility that the One God- whatever type of being he is as being a possible Us. God has spoken as an Us in more than one passage of scripture without violating monotheism.

if your going to speak about the Christian God from an educated standpoint you need to realize he is unlike anything to do with pagan gods for one thing. the christian God is not polytheistic in structure as the pagan gods your speaking about. Christianity is NOT syirik as you say. educate yourself with Deut 6:4 "Hear O Israel the Lord our God is ONE Lord. take a close look at the word ONE. Its "echad" which can and does means Composite Unity depending on the Context. Its permisible.

Jesus was not god. He even said so, himself. so to answer your question. God ran the universe when Jesus was dead.

The watchtower is truly PAGAAN in its teaching...it teaches there are 2 gods...the big god the father and the lesser/smaller god jesus. YUP friends that is Pagaanism. Gotta luv Charles TAZEEEEEE Russelll. Their founder. But it is NOT CHRISTIAN even remotely.

great question. God the father and the Son are two separate beings consisting of separate souls. God runs the universe. When his Son died, God still ran the universe. God the father couldn't ever die because he is immortal Jesus died and was able to die because he wasn't immortal yet. To continue, the Holy Spirit is not a person. A person consists of a body, soul and spirit. THe Holy Spirit does not have a body or a soul. It is the Spirit of God the Father.

Storm Chase Revelation 22-13-16 I AM Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last (any watchtower person easily identifies this as Jehovah God...true but read on) "I Jesus have sent my Angel to testify to you these things in the churches....I am the Root and offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." This Being identifies Himself of JHVH and then clearly again identifies Himself and calls Himself Jesus!!!!! Scripture stand even if the watchtower hates it. Truth is truth.

i missed your post. now we can spend many hours speaking about this and i can point out logically everything concerning this verse as i did, with Gen 5:1-2, i asked very simple questions that you really never answered. i am convinced if you do not answer my questions posted then there is not any reason to continue. If you want to discuss this send me a personal message. 2 persons are 1 flesh Gen 2;24. Adam was made up of 2 persons. Gen5:1-2.God is made up of 3 theFather, TheSon, the Holy spirit.
