My pops went thru the same stuff.. one day he woke up and said he didn’t want that life anymore and he got help.. he’s been clean for over 10yrs now and he’s a completely different person (much nicer person). This happens often when a rapper emerges out of the shadow of another . Once Ja became his own entity and was not the “lil bro” or outta DMX & Jay’s shadow then all the animosity started. Interestingly enough both Jay & X said he was starting to get too cocky but I see it as him enjoying his success and accomplishments.

He hated Jay z because he was competition at def jam and people were saying Jay won the battle they had. Hated Rule because he was competition. X also started hating Sean Paul and literally a whole genre of music (reggae) because Sean Paul didn't wanna put him on his remix and instead put busta rhymes on it. Oh and last but not least dmx hated 2pac even though he never met him and Pac never said anything to him ever or even knew he existed. He said 2pac can suck his D***.

Throughout dmx's career he was constantly attacking Ja and Jay with subliminals and sometimes direct. X was amazing during his prime but he really was a low key hater.

Ja literally did EVERYTHING to prove he wasn't copying dmx, he dressed differently, he grew out his hair, he started singing and making a different style of music... and dmx still kept saying that dumb ish lol. Not one single song did Ja Rule rap like dmx not even on his first album. And he was always rapping the same way even before he met dmx and before anyone knew who dmx was when he was in a group called Cash Money Click in the early 90s. Dmx was a great artist but that dude was a hater. He didn't like anyone who was competition. 20 years later X was still on that hate ish, still mad, still tryna convince people he was right. That proves he was hating.

I thought I should correct you on Go To Sleep as the entire song isn't dedicated to Ja because both Eminem and Obie Trice were mostly going at Benzino on the song. Eminem's only diss to Ja Rule on Go To Sleep was on the last bar of his verse (this was the first time Em ever dissed Ja). Go To Sleep is a incredible song

When Ja first came on the scene I thought there were some similarities. His voice reminded me of pac and X. However the more music I heard from Ja the easier it was to see the difference and years later It was easy to see that they do not sound alike and their styles we so different. Again initially I heard some of X in Ja’s sound

Both of them have nostalgic timeless hits. I couldn't imagine DMX in the place of Ja's songs and vice versa. Ja was right. They both had deep voices and pulled from their diafram like Pac. Ja was suited moreso for r&b and DMX brought aggressive club confrontational vibes. They both had their own lanes even though they had deep tones.

I like Jah, I never thought he sounded like X... (Jah = "Oscar the Grouch", DMX = "Doom Guy" fighting a legion of demons) BUT at the beginning of this video... DMX kept it simple and to the point "YOU ALIVE CUZ OF ME"... then Jah pops up next, shirtless, talking about being a star... NO COMPETITION... DMX all day everyday, and I still like Jah but I'mma always avoid picking sides, it's no question I don't even mentally have a Jah vs. DMX... I'm more like "HOW?" its like trying to fathom how a giraffe would fight a Bengal Tiger...? Ja was NOT taking dmx's style and sound 😂 you ain't got a clue. Which songs of Ja Rule is he rapping like X?????? Ja's flow, word play, cadence, delivery and style was always completely different to how dmx rapped. None of Ja's songs sounded like dmx songs and the content was nothing alike. Also Ja was rapping the exact same way in 93 when he was in a group (Cash money click) before he met dmx and before anyone knew who dmx was. The only thing that was slightly similar was their voices but even that could easily tell apart.
