The audio takes me back to the “Chess Fundamentals” early videos.

High level chess requires full focus. The Microphone Gambit is extremely hard to play. You continue to produce quality content. Thanks for another entertaining video.

Actually I love the sound from webcam or whatever it was. Feels more natural and simpler to process with ambient noise included. :) When watching on TV at least.

YESSS. Thank you so much for sharing more of these tournaments John. I found you by watching blitz and frankly the players that took place of the older streamers place just don't compare.

Enjoyed the stream on twitch regardless of audio issues. The most articulate chess master on the net. P.S. Can’t wait for the Scandi course.

Game 3 looks similar to a lot of taimanov sicilians I play, but you have a pawn on the c file. Those holes on the opponents light squares were soooo juicy.

As always John, instructive and watchable and the audio was OK. These things happen. Much more important are the chess games which will hopefully improve my chess! 😊 👍

Good point, this is my one issue with the Shure mic. Might switch it back to the old setup some time!

@@JohnBartholomewChess It is a dilemma! I wonder if you could strategically place the mic out of shot or close.

12:12 wasn't rook e1 probably the best move? Defend the knight and prepare to defend the second rank with rook e2 if rook checked him on d2, simultaneously offering a rook trade.
@JohnBartholomewChess6 ай бұрын
Nice spot - that looks best. The rook trade probably isn't good for Black...not sure why I had so much trouble on that move. I also noticed I had a cool shot at 11:30 with Nxf7! or Nxb7! in response to ...Rxe5. Didn't even consider these counterattacks!

Thank you, Gordon - glad you like the TT streams! Appreciate you following my videos. I believe my best result is 7.5/11 or 8/11. I got a top 10 finish once, which you can find in my Titled Tuesday playlist. Thanks again for watching and commenting!

You might respect the Tony Miles special but I'd feel like I was being disrespected and feel the need to play overly aggressive toward it, funny how psychology can make you over play your own hand. Certainly Sicilian-esque position arises as a result.
