Excellent lesson. Found a few epiphanies along the way. Loved all lessons. But it's always the last one that inspires me. This was my 7th inspiration. This one opened my eyes to my circumstances, and why I keep asking God, the last couple of years, Lord what is my calling?! And, no answer. So, I began to speculate on my own. I was pulling an "Ishmael." A long time friend told me. "You're an encourager." I could see that through my career in medicine. Administration in management that came in my early forty's, I began in clinical at 18 through 21. I found myself asking if I could help admin by filing reports in charts, as I was waiting for the doctor to finish with patients after my participation, in exam rooms. I was bored and could not stand around with nothing to do. It was a long, process through the years learning, and taking classes where ever I could find one. I took accounting when I was in late 20's. But, I didn't need it. Don't know why I did it except for the knowledge, and I wanted to learn something new. Years later one of the many classes I took was accounting again. It was easier since I had already been long ago. I also learned a lot through learning, mistskes, and how to be kind to people. I was ready to quit a job because I had no friends at work, and I went up stairs to vist the transcriber. She was about a hundred years old, rather cranky, and did not have anyone bothering her. A lonely job. She talked about WWII, living by Pearl Harbor, and doing secretarial work, as her husband served. She told me about the attack. Inside real life story. She had many stories to share about so much in her life. That faithful day I went up stairs, feeling defeated, looking for sympathy. Nope, Margaret said, you can leave, and repeat the same mistakes. Or, stay, be kind to others, and turn the situation around, with each employee. It will be harder than leaving, but you will grow relationships, and become a better person. I should have known better than to expect sympathy from Margaret. She actually scared me when I started visiting her. But over time she started talking to me. I looked forward to a coffee break with her. I doubt she ever knew how she changed my life. Over the thirty years since, I have remembered her, with great fondness, and still keeps me smiling. I used that kindness well, especially in my postions as manager and then eventually in Human Resources. I smiled everyday, on some pretty rough days. Whether I was tired or in pain. I put on a smile for anyone coming into my office, or as I walked the halls, and departments checking on my people. When I had to release someone from there job, I used kindness and gave hope that their abilities lay in a different job than the one they tried so hard to do. Everyone has a special place to shine and excel. I would give them a hug and a good reference, and an invitation to let me know how they get on. A lot of learning through the years. And I'm not done yet.

Receiving deliverance can be extremely beneficial and transformational as well. As a deliverance minister, I can testify to the power of the Holy Spirit, as I have been able to help many, many people experience freedom that they would not have received by renewing of the mind only. God has already given us everything we will ever need pertaining to life and godliness. This includes deliverance and healing As the founder of deliverance ministry for women, I am in full agreement with what this mighty man in the Lord is sharing. I would add that seeking deliverance is also part of the children’s bread and can be a game changer🌺

To John Bevere and his team: I want to thank you for this series, I’m 22 years old, my name is Jesus, been asking questions to myself about my calling, no one seems to put their story out there for others to hear, but when they do, it’s like hearing the bigger picture, thank you for sharing your story, I’m currently looking out the window, at University of Nevada, hearing your story, I’m at a crossroads, being pressured to have a secure job and income, looking for the right career, wanting to satisfy these deep urges, while also hearing a calling to be in ministry. Anyways, this was very helpful.

Phenomenal message! God bless! Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Luke 12:30: For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 2 Timothy 2:4: No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Luke 11:9: And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:11: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? John 10:11: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Ephesians 3:20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Jeremiah 10:12: He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Luke 10: 1-2 shows its "weight" and "sin". Chapter 10 continues on to show the solution. The previous chapter reveals what is necessary to apply the solution (the main topic of chapter 9). I pray God bless his teachers and students with wisdom and humility. Seek and you'll find.

The sin that so easily beset us that Hebrews 12 is referring to is unbelief. Notice that Heb 11 refers to the faith of those before us and then it continues in Hebrews 12 starting with the word wherefore. So it is a continuation of 11 and refers to the cloud of witnesses that demonstrated great faith. Then the author goes on to say we need to lay aside THE sin that so easily beset us (unbelief) and look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. So though I agree with John that each us have challenges in our life that we struggle with differently than someone else. The sin that so easily beset us referred to in Hebrews 12 is unbelief. Unbelief is the biggest challenge of the New Covenant christian. Every issue we have, the root of it is unbelief. Many of us like Peter start out in faith , but when the challenges come against us we fall into unbelief and sink. Praise the Lord, if we call for mercy, he is there to catch us. But we need to get to the point in our christian maturity where our faith does not become tainted by unbelief (looking at things seen and trusting in that over and above the things unseen) and fall into sin.

There is no error in what John said. Sure, all sin is lack of belief. If we had the appropriate fear of God and an eternal perspective of His calling on our life, we would be too terrified of losing even the tiniest degree of intimacy with Him to do and say anything except for exactly what God commands every time. But we don't. And that unbelief manifests in every sin possible. It's the same with the first commandment. We like to think we've never been idolatrous, but in order to break ANY commandment, we absolutely have violated the first one every time we have exalted anything above Him.

The 4th being: a debilitating chronic disease. No clue why God doesn't heal me of chronic Lyme disease. It's robbed me of almost everything. Am too ill to visit others or have others visit me. Can't work anymore. Ever since I became a Christian, God changed me from a taker to a giver. I gave whatever. But now I cannot give my time to others, nor can I earn money to give that to those in need. Often have brain fog, so I play this stupid video game to help straighten my brain waves out. It's heartbreaking. If there are still some real Christians out there, I'd appreciate your fervent prayers. Would love to be able to give again. Job's comforters not welcome.

Please remember, many commands in the Bible are given to individuals, such as the man who wanted wait until his parents died, or the rich young ruler! The principles are the same but intil each person is ready we can sometimes jump the gun. In other words we must also learn to wait. Timing is so important! Money, security & relationships are all good in their right place! Question is: What is the Spirit saying & for when???

So how do you distinguish the difference between a weight and a sin... Like a bad unhealthy food habit ? Would that be a sin or weight? Like am I sinning against my body?
@Bella77260 Жыл бұрын
In my view anything that we value above the Lord is a sin, if we give it first place. With food there are two issues, are we using it as a means to address emotions instead of running to the Father? The heart motivation is very important here. The two issues are if food becomes our stumbling block, we can become unfit for purpose and in the process we are guilty of not treating our body the temple of the Holy Spirit in the way we should. So that holds us back because we are unhealthy, if we are obese it can effect our health and effectiveness so to me it both becomes a weight and a sin. That said praise the Lord that He can set us free from entrenched cycles, He knows the heart!
