The diamond side is the coarse side (25 micron) and the synthetic sapphire ceramic is the fine side (1 micron). You should apply only a very little pressure when working with diamond stones.

What? The golden side is fine diamond (600 grit), the dark grey side is the finer ceramic for honing. It is the other way round as shown in the video. Oh dear. Fine side first, then the coarser one. Hopefully no one does it that way after watching this video.
