I dunno why but this channel should have 5 million subscribers by now. It's child friendly. It has great and truthful content. The editing is television standard. The host is literally living it. No fake passions.

@@SuperKendoman Apparently the channel was owned by somebody else even though John built it up. And there seemed to have been a dispute about it, so John left. And the other guy tries to carry it on with different hosts and it's not going well.

I agree wholeheartedly Yuzu kosho is just the best condiment out there. I tried it a few years ago while visiting Japan and fell in love instantly 💕. Now every time I visit buy a bunch to take home with me since it’s basically impossible to get in my home country 😭. Now due to Covid I didn’t have it in a long time and I miss it greatly 🥺. You are so lucky to visit a factory that makes it ☺️.

Yes! Yuzukosho is my FAVORITE!!! They grow a lot of Yuzu here in Miyazaki-ken. But Huganatsu is more abundant here. And is also very very yummy!

I really like that the yuzukosho production still involved a lot of people from the mixing to bottling and to packaging. Not just all big and fast machines (even though that would probably speed up their production). It creates job oppurtunities for the locals there. I mean, they even have a designated person weighing each bottle!

I used to live in Hyogo, just across the water from Shikoku, so I know that Shikoku's Yuzu are AMAZING. My favourite ポン酢 is 馬路村。It's super hard to get here in Canada, though.

Japan needs to export this on a big scale. According to Angela of Internationally Me, she has said many yuzu fruits are left unpicked on the trees because farmers are getting older and can’t pick them fast enough.

After seeing this video in bed last night, I decided to get a jar at my local Asian market. I know why this can be addicting. It reminds me a lot of chili lime. It's lemony but savory, then a mild kick follows immediately after. I ate it with grilled mackerel and some rice. Really happy that I stumbled on this video!

the first time I ever had this was at a small yakitori spot in tokyo, and I was blown away by the burst of flavor. I asked in the most broken japanese ever, what it was and when they said yuzukosho, I repeated it in my head over and over as to not forget it. It is truly one of my faaaaavorite condiment and I go to that yakitori spot every time im in tokyo. thanks jd.

I first heard of yuzu years ago on The Food Network through Chef Masaharu Morimoto. He explained what it was and how to use it. I can find it in many of my local Asian markets. Gosh even Walmart carries it. I am spoiled though we have 4 different specialty Japanese markets here in Orange County California that I know of. Thank you for such an in-depth report of how it comes to be the awesome sauce that is!

After watching this video I went out looking for and bought some Yuzukosho. Wow, this condiment hits you in waves: saltiness, spicy burning, saltiness again, burning sensation returns, and finally a citrus aftertaste.
