Hey John, Regarding bag recycling down here in Victoria our local transfer station takes them to be recycled at Warracknabeal 3393, maybe give them a call and find out who takes them.

Hi John, I have a leaky dam and I wondered if you know whether grain bag plastic floats or sinks? It occurs to me if the plastic can be welded or taped, it could be used for dam covers or liners and perhaps for water tank covers to keep the light out. This might be the beginning of a startup industry.

Yer you can use it to line dams, but you would need an empty dam first. I know there have been some trials done about using the bags as catchment liner in order to catch as much water as possible

We have two brands, Bisley and Tru and both are 100% cotton

G’day J.H. Does Cascade CBH use rail to transport to Port ? I take it that Esperance is the preferred departure point for export.

No its all moved by truck, would be nice to have rail but it was never established in our area as its relatively new. And yes all our grain is exported out of Esperance

What does Brian do for the rest of the year

Brian does lots of things. He has three trucks in his fleet. The do everything from fertiliser boat transfers, mine transfers, blue metal transport, lime, gypsum, gravel, water carting, grain transfers for CBH to port. He is always doing something

Why do you have two headers but only one seeders

A lot of farmers are the same, more headers than seeders. Seeders are wider than harvesters and can work 24/7 so they cover the ground quicker.

They cover the same foot print. The seeder is 24m and the header fronts are 12m so both covering the same amount. We also run the seeder 24/7 so with the amount of land I have there is no need for two seeders
