Love this. Probably one of the best things about being a farmer is you can bring the kids to work and its great fun and they can get involved and learn. Thanks for the work you do and the efforts of your family to keep Aussies fed.

@@nickislade5533 i was so little Dad would put the truck into first gear and I would stand on the seat and steer while he fed sheep off the back. When we shifted paddocks i would drive the ute down the road following Dad on the tractor. Our neighbour rang my mum to say she’d seen our ute going by with no one driving. Lol I could barely see through the steering wheel over the dash.

What a fantastic education for your kids, operating (or trying to) these machines on the farm. City slickers can only dream of this, that's if they even know how a farm works. Well done.

Get a big solar panel for the roof of that fire truck, you’ll spend $200 and not worry about it starting any more. Money well spent. We park everything in a bar so we do the same with 120v trickle chargers

Can you explain the "harvest ban" please?
@tomsbrookfarm13 күн бұрын
So when the the weather conditions get to bad we put a ban on which means no one is allowed to be out in the paddocks. It’s to reduce the chance of a fire starting. We go of temp, humidity and wind. We put that in the calculator and when it reaches a certain number we have to put a ban on

Here in America, we have grain silos that we store the crops in. How come I don't see any of these in Australia? Is it too hot to have them or do they not store the crops well? I'm just curious why we don't see any.
@peterclancy365328 күн бұрын
The farmers here usually deliver their crops to local bulk handling bins established by a farmers Co-Operative Bulk Handling (CBH ) These are massive bins located on rail or road infrastructure to enable delivery to nearest port facilities. This has been established of at least 70 years. When the grain is delivered its properties are measured to establish quality, moisture etc. it is worth having a study of the CBH IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA as I have been out of the industry for a long time and the technology has advanced so much. Hope this helps explain a bit.

It's a requirement for our farm, not a "law". Just a safety thing and covering all bases
