Hello guys, personally, my favorite ball would be the X-40 because it is the only ball that I’ve seen unanimously used amongst players. It’s the most affordable ball in the market and the one I’ve grown most accustomed to.

Good discussion this week. I find that I often go back and forth in my paddle preferences between paddles that play to my strengths and paddles that help me with my weaknesses and many of the new power paddles are very seductive to my strengths, but will they hurt me when switch to a softer more defensive game? The ball that I use most often is the Franklin X-40 because it seems to have the best combination of consistency, durability and cost ratio.

Honestly I’ve been playing the Lifetime ball a bunch and it plays very well. Almost no cracking or anything! Love the pod. Been watching since the start and you and Eddie have been getting better and better at just flowing with one another. The in depth analysis is always spot on and informative and the banter makes it an easy listen!

I've tested a lot of different pickleballs and have 2 favorites. You can't get my #1 choice any more because it is no longer sold. That is the Takeya ball, which was discontinued along with all other pickleball equipment from Takeya. Too bad because this was 100% the most durable tournament grade ball I have ever tested. My current top choice that is still available is the Core outdoor ball. It is also slightly faster than an X40 and is overall very durable compared to any of the other faster playing balls. I currently play with a Joola Magnus 3s 16mm, but would like to try out a Joola Hyperion 3s 16mm, or Ronbus Ripple R1.

I absolutely love the Franklin x40 in Arkansas we have cold colds and hot hots and it year round is great for play especially with all of the hot paddles right now it’s perfect and just cheap enough if we are going through them I’m not mad if we go through 2-3 per session.

Generally play with the Franklin X-40 since that's the ball of choice for most of the people I play with. When my husband and I practice/drill together, we use the balls at the courts that are in the ball basket that are mostly used duras. Always enjoy the podcasts. You and Eddie do a great job. Always an amazing podcast. My favorite ball to play with is a CORE. I find it to be super reliable when it comes to keeping it's shape and bounce, but you can never go wrong with the X-40. What I like about the x-40 is also the engraving of the X in the ball so you can expect how it plays. The newer shiny balls have no indication after extensive play so it's always a guess on what ball you're playing with unless it's a x-40 or S1

As far as balls, I’d probably go with the Franklin, but the Selkirk a close second. After playing with Selkirk, Vulcans, and Lifetimes balls, a Franklin feels like a rock, it’s so much harder and stiffer. Pros and cons to that.

The Selkirk ball is very durable, especially when it's cold, but it would be my second choice. Just a question. When I first got into pickleball with an old friend from highschool, we were walking through a Walmart trying to find something to do, when we found a pair of two wooden paddles and two unmarked balls for $20. Both the paddles and the balls are absolute crap, but they served their purpose. I’ve bought a better paddle since, but I still only have two seemingly brand less pickleballs

LOVED the power paddle comparison discussion. Mained the Pulse V but started a 30-day trial with the Gearbox Ultimate Hyper for a bump up in power/pop. Now I want to compare it with the 11SIX24 Power Vapor which stacks up well and costs $105 less than Gearbox but with more spin!

I use the X-40 more at night and on warmer days. I use the Pro S1 on colder days. I also prefer the X-40 when playing on a wet court.

Another great pod guys! Thanks!! I play mainly with Franklin X40s, but on cold mornings I’ve purchased Selkirk Pro S1’s for their crack resistance. The X40’s have good bounce and aren’t too stiff, feel just right to me. Not as hot as some which I like. But they crack like crazy in cold weather, so go to S1s then.
