Did some digging and discovered the infamous Marie's birth name may be Marie Hoover. Graduated Fairfield High the same year as John and shares a name with a county judge in Ohio. Unfortunately, a yearbook of John and Marie's graduating year isn't available online so I guess we'll never really know what she looks like. In the midst of my digging I did find a photo of John's brother, Carl Mayer, in the Fairfield High 1991 yearbook! So I got close, but no cigar.

He hears that she's leaving and he finally says "Fuck it" and gets on his horse and rides off to say goodbye to her and the video ends with him kissing her and the envelope with the letter to her drops on the ground.

I think most people expected him to be the new main blues artist while he wanted to experience many different genre, and thats where the "miscomunication" happened and some didnt enjoy them, it didnt fulfill their expectations. And thats completely fine, people need to remember that what differentiates singer from artist is that artist does what he feels and singer, well those usually tend to just sing what people want
