God bless you. I went through a a similar situation but lived in my car. Couldn’t afford a hotel and since I was a single man they would not give me a voucher for a room. I had my dog who I had gotten to keep my mother company when I moved her into my home. But when she passed away from cancer, it was up to me to care for the dog now. So I couldn’t go into any shelters either, but I couldn’t let her go or force her to live life without me as she is so devoted and loving of her daddy. It was a heat wave year. My doggie and I camped out looking for any shade. Turns out there isn’t as much available as one would think when you actually require some to survive. People would run me off the street by their homes and didn’t care when I told them I just needed some shade. They called the police on me even though I was a clean, decent person who had been targeted and criminally removed from my home. But now I was just another homeless person being shewed away. I kept doing what I could. I took other homeless people to family court. When folks got sick and I couldn’t treat their wounds due to infection I took them to the hospital and stayed with them. I went to the church and got lots of free food amongst individuals who had been stealing food for themselves and cooked for everyone. I laid hands on people and prayed when God told me to, and when they were deathly ill. And laid hands on the woman who sold tamales from her shopping cart whose toes and legs were turning black. God called me to serve. Next thing you know someone who I know who had introduced me to his family, who were pastors, and his parents built a huge pastoral home behind security gates and walls and away from the crime of the streets…they told me I could come park in their massive parking lot at least somewhere safe where no one could approach me and my car in my sleep like had been happening. They wanted me to at least be safe so I wouldn’t have my car continuing to be vandalized. Tires flattened. As they talked with me and got to know me they invited me in to access a back bathroom which they continued to leave unlocked for me by the pool so I could use the bathroom and shower. They cooked food and brought it out. I went in one day and sat down at their piano and started playing and they said oh my lord?! Next thing you know I got very sick and the First Lady got mad…”there’s no reason for him to be outside. This Chile is sick as a dog.” Long story short next thing you know they are moving me in to a wing of the house and giving me a large space of my own, fresh clothes, a bed…suddenly I had a leather recliner and sofas to sit on. Space for doggie and me. Then they brought down a small fridge. And dvr cable boxes. And said I could eat whatever was in the kitchen. They gave me keys to the house and a clicker for the gate…because God told them to do all of this. Everything was white. White House, White dogs, white walls, white furniture, white floors. People of color! I became a member of the family. And I was finally being restored to who I was. they told me that I was special and I was loved and that God had big plans for me! They told me that I am family I will never ever be homeless ever again. I did what was asked of me when I had barely anything of myself to give and God saw me. Then the pastor got sick and I jumped in and became an intensive caregiver and patient advocate booking appointments and counting pills and making heart healthy meals and restricting fluids. I helped him get changed and get everything he needed including his insurance benefits. I did everything God asked me to do for him, and I finally understood why God had delivered me to that place . Not only that so that they could help me but because he knew I was skilled in medicine and and life and caring for life and he knew I would be thorough and passionate and protective of my benefactor. He turned what was done to me in to glorious redemption and showing of his ways. I went from living in my car in the streets of Los Angeles to living in a mansion in one step. I was so touched when one day I was wheeling Pastor into the VA Medical Center in Westwood, and we were in the specialty offices, and I was giving them the rundown on all of the minute details of his case, and going over all of the organ issues and unwrapping and showing them his wounds that I has been cleaning and dressing. They said that I was dressing wounds better than the nurses in the podiatry clinic and had them come in and observe in amazement the quality and craftsmanship of my wound care and the healing results. It was so beautiful when they turned to him and said “wow, your son sure is taking great care of you isn’t he? He knows more about you than everybody else!” And he said, “praise God, he sure is! he’s on top of everything!” Being that both of my parents had died of cancer back to back just a couple years prior I was extremely moved by this. Next thing you know, I have a new family and parental figures in my life. Only God can do that! On top of that, he gave them a new and devoted son! they then opened up all of their staff and everyone to me, and claim me as one of their own children. Later, when the pastor transitioned, I sat with the family in front of everyone and forever known as a member of this family. I now live on my own again and my first apartment since losing my house and I’m so incredibly blessed because I have a dishwasher lol. God is good and despite what we go through We are loved And seen. I now know that any bad situation is an opportunity to prove how beautiful and true your faith is. And that’s the best test to pass and feel so good when you pass it man I can’t tell you how many people out there are dreaming of something like this to happen. People who are worthy who are homeless, but are nonetheless sober, and not on drugs. These people have never been arrested have never Been accused of a crime, and are in the situations for unjust reasons. I am moved by the fact that this man doesn’t judge people because of the situations that they are in, but instead finds nourishment in their stories, and in their faith. God bless you for such a great job and continue to do his works.!

Thank you for what you do! Most folks can't afford to do such wonderful things on the scale you do. However, everyone can do small, kind things that help others. Like paying for someone's groceries, buying dinner w/o the recipients knowing who. There are also plenty of things that can be done without $, like mowing someone's yard, giving a kind note with a flower, smile as you pass someone, open a door for someone, let a car in or out of traffic, etc. Someone on social media will ask a person to hold a bouquet of flowers, and then they disappear. The smile that brings to the recipient's faces is so wonderful! Keep up your good work, you have no idea how many you touch and inspire!

When I get paid and I see someone out there that’s hungry I would only give him or her anywhere from $10-$20 for food or whatever and they would drop down tears and the warmth that I feel inside is worth a million to me. This is the most wonderful story I have ever heard in my life. I am so happy that you can do these kinds of well-being for people in need. I retired from the Canadian Air Force with PTSD, I've had to fight for everything I have. I pay rent for a small apartment and my family doesn't recognize me, because of the sort of training I have had . I pray to not cry every day, but it doesn't work.
