A WPA Poster Style for ArcGIS Pro

The WPA Poster aesthetic is a pervasive one in current graphic (re)design. It's a charming low-fi coloration of a sort of vectorized (before that word made much sense; how about "paint-by-numbers"?) scene. This video walks through how to apply a similar texture/scheme to maps in ArcGIS Pro.

thanks! i made a few more paper textures and shared them as tile layers so you can drape a texture over any map. livingatlas.arcgis.com/en/browse/#d=2&q=paper%20texture

This, like all your other videos have been such a treat and a learning tool. I cannot thank you enough. One issue I keep running into (which is likely my inexperience) is finding the correct data for the projects. For example, for this I would like to do all the US National Parks if possible or even US States. I have looked for the past few hours but have been unable to find any good data for this. Can you recommend me where to go? I know I am just a couple of years late to the party as well (lol), but I would be very thankful! Once again, I cannot thank you for all this wonderful work!

Thank you! You can find a lot of GIS data online if you search your term, and then “shapefile”. That usually takes me to some handy download page. The national parks you can get right from the NPS website. Also there is LivingAtlas.arcgis.com which is where I work

they are available for some countries in Europe. Search Living Atlas for "corine": livingatlas.arcgis.com/en/browse/#d=2&q=corine Also, you can download the big (couple gigabytes) vector layer directly here: land.copernicus.eu/pan-european/corine-land-cover

Ah, i lied, you can do it! draw a rectangle in your layout, then when it's selected check out the "format" tab up in the ribbon. you should see a style droplist there; scroll all the way to the bottom. the WPA Poster style has a "layout frame" option. that should do the trick for you!
