Johnnie taylor is another great artist whose music takes me back to my childhood. Check out some more of his songs like running out of lies, last two dollars, everything's out in the open, soul heaven, still called the blues, when she stops askin, we're getting careless with our love, and too many memories.

By the way FUN FACT back in the 70s lots of black men didn't care for mr Taylor because they said although his voice was Masterful he told too many secrets.. he has a song STORMY check that out and see if you can guest what rap artist sampled it.. checkout Love Bones as well he name drops other soul singers on that track.. his life story is as complicated as his lyrics..

Yo and Wow guys ! First off, great and fun reaction. You two were jiving and grooving and I was right there with you. I haven't heard this in several decades. I feel that most younger black ones today haven't the slightest clue of the amount of incredible soul music back in the sixties and first half of the seventies that was out there. I mean like big time, major league talent, unlike this stupid BS today. Imagine being a ten year old white kid in 1968 (me) in the back seat of my parents car and on the am radio this shit came over the speaker with that scream and then he let it rip. I'm sure my little head would have been bee bopping around like crazy and at ten no doubt I would have thought that making love would have been a boy and a girl kissing. I know it was late summer of 68 because with some of my birthday money I walked downtown to our GC Murphy's Five &Ten and bought this single and The Beatles single Hey Jude/Revolution. What a great time to be a kid. My parents were children of the depression whose parents both came to America from Croatia at the turn of the century. They were really cool parents and encouraged both my older sister and I to listen to all types of music and to read all books that we enjoyed. I have fond memories of my father in the early 2000's when he was getting up in age calling me every Sunday because there was an hour long radio show on called "Breakfast With The Beatles". He would be like your mother is making breakfast, are you coming over to listen to The Beatles with me? I always went and he was a professional musician for about 30 years and I would enjoy his analysis of the instrument playing and The Beatles vocal harmonies between John, Paul and George. He would hear a song on the show and ask me if I could make a tape of this song and that song off of my CDs' and I said sure. He loved "If I Fell" with Lennon and McCartney's harmonies, he'd say now that's how you sing. Check it out guys from their 1964 album "Hard Days Night" it is a beautiful song and another one that sticks out is 1963's "This Boy" with John, Paul and George's harmonies, check it out guy's, it's a great one. One more I remember is that he loved Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun" he called it a masterpiece of how to write a beautiful song. I think its also my favorite Beatles song too. I remember when you two first started delving into Beatles songs and you did a crappy cover of it and you guys caught some heat for it and I've told you that you need to revisit that one, seriously guys, revisit this one. The 2019 50th anniversary remix of it from their "Abbey Road" with video, it sounds incredible. Also from that album, McCartney's "Oh Darling" he rips the vocals on this one, like tears it up. One more from this record, Lennon's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" a bluesy rocker and sonically incredible. You guys did "Come Together" already from this one, a Lennon classic. Hell, you two should just listen to the whole damn album, its a masterpiece and what a way to go out as it was the last album they recorded together. You two are the cause for me to do a lot of reminiscing. I guess that's a good thing, so thanks for all of the pleasant memories guys and I truly mean that. Thank You and Peace and Love
