Knew that 40 years ago, even the stuff that received no air play. The first three songs on this album are phenomenal. Always loved Bill Ward.Cool dude, handles himself quite well on the kit. I could only wish they could put the original 4 back together for one more tour.

Never Say Die definitely isn't no Paranoid or Master of Reality but it flows very well and nearly all of the songs are really good. Unlike Technical Ecstasy which has a few powerhouses on it such as "Back Street Kids and Gypsy" but for the most part it is a very uneven record. IMHO Never Say Die is a superior album than Technical Ecstasy.

+freddy c Ozzy quit the band right before the recording of Never Say Die was supposed to start. Savoy Brown vocalist Dave Walker was brought in to replace him. There is a version of "Junior's Eyes" out there with Walker singing and different lyrics. It kinda sucks. Ozzy ended up returning to the band and wrote his vocal harmonies and sang on all 9 tracks. The Dave Walker stuff was never used. see Wikipedia re: "Never Say Die".
@Fongolitus6 жыл бұрын
Bill Ward sang on Swinging the Chain (or they could've just left Walker's vocals on that one and credited Ward) cos ozzy wouldn't sing it and they wouldn't change the lyrics
@thomasnee2704 жыл бұрын
I actual like that song. I always thought Bill Ward was a pretty good singer. His song on Technical Ecstasy "It's Alright" is a good tune as well.

Wayne Wilkinson Jr Why specifically, no. But besides Bill, the rest of the band shits on this album sadly whenever talking about it. I assume they left it in the past, being Ozzy (at that time ) last album w them they didn't feel those songs could transfer well w Dio & later other vocalists. But again, it's probably cause they hated this whole album.

This last album by Black Sabbath with Ozzy on vocals, was without a doubt, right up there with their best! IMHO! This song is excellent! As are ALL the rest imho!! Any guys/gals new to Black Sabbath should most definitely check out all their older music before this record, you wiLL be amazed! And there's plenty of music to try to decipher the meaning of, "according to you" lmao! The very first album is a great place to start of course! No, listen to the whole thing! But the last song Warning is just damned amazing! Love Sabbath!!! Hope You enJoy!!! My Story! Seen 'em live in Austin Tx, '79, Palmer Auditorium!. Tour for this album! They did 4 songs!..... Well, their equipment fked up! They came back out 4 times! Equipment kept fking up! People kept booing louder. Finally, Iommi flipped the crowd off, and they left.. I've never held it against them.. shit happens. I was disappointed but them's the breaks... (Btw, back then? concert tickets were 7-10 dollars lol) Needless to say, this is a *great* last album of Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne! Dennis Mohican 56 years lol ATX
